I don't know how I felt about this book. I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. I like reading the part of the story from Hardins point of view but I do feel like they left out some pretty crucial parts and scenes. Although, I really liked how we saw how everything came to be and we saw Hardin slowly change which was my favorite part. I liked not having to read from Tessa's whiney point of view. I don't think I will be rereading the series anytime soon, but I loved how we got to see their happily ever after. Another part I really enjoyed was reading from the point of views that weren't Hardin or Tessa's. What was interesting to me was being able to to see that Molly was actually a good a pretty good person. She just came from a troubled family amd a troubled past. She helped Hardin and she actually admitted to being happy for both him and Tessa. We also saw how messed up Steph actually is and oh my god. Talk about psychotic. I was happy to hear that her and Tristan broke up and he left her in Louisiana because he actually seemed like he was a good giy. Stephs past didn't automatically give her the right to be a witch. I thought it was cute that Harding brought a book to Smith like Christian did for him. Long story short, I'm quite on the fence of if I loved or didn't love this book.

My favorite chapter is "Smith" the character developments wow!

This wasn't really necessary, but I did enjoy getting back into Hardin's mind and seeing more of the ending to their story. Though I think I probably could have done without some of the other point of views. Quick and easy read/listen though for a sick day!

4/5 Ik vond alle hoofdstukken vanuit verschillende personages echt heel tof, vooral de laatste vanuit Hessa. De stukken van Hardin waren eerst mega uitgebreid en daarna sloeg het dagen/weken over? Voelde beetje gek.

This is a sweet addition to the After Series! An insider look of the thoughts going through the characters throughout the series with a look at their background and the thoughts of the couple.

Plus we get more of Hardin's POV from the series as he pursues Tessa and the attention that was plaguing his mind and his feelings when it came to the girl that affected him ways he least expected. We get the before, the during, and ending with words that will have your reflecting back to how the Hardin and Tessa first started and the journey they got to where they are today. Heartbreakingly beautiful and a happily ever after that they can all as their own.

I liked Hardin’s chapters “During”. The “Afters” were okay. It was nice to get his point of view.

I wasn't sure I wanted to read a companion novel to Hardin and Tessa's story, but I almost feel like I got more closure here than I did in the last book. So, I'm glad I gave it a shot.

Part 1: 'Before' is about the influential girls in Hardin's life prior to Tessa. I didn't get much out of this, but, I can see why Todd added them. It gives us a look in to their past.

Part 2: 'During' is the story from Hardin's perspective as he first meets Tessa and moves through portions of their relationship from the first book. I loved this part of the book. I could get inside Hardin's head and stay there for another dozen books if I could. This was my favorite and it's worth reading if for nothing else but this. I love his witty self.

Part 3: 'After' gives us snippets of Zed, Landon, Smith, Christian and some more 'Hessa'. I adored the Smith and Christian stories. Not only do we get the history of Trish and Christian, but we get Hardin interacting with Smith and Christian after Hardin has found himself. To close out the book, we get more Hardin and Tessa. This was what I wanted in the last book. This gave us more insight in to their day to day life once they finally got together. I loved this and I'm so glad Anna Todd gave us these moments. I will miss my time with these two.

It's taken me a week to finish this book because I've been in deep deep denial that this is the last story about Hardin and Tessa. But tonight I did and I'm so happy and also so sad that it's over. Anna Todd does it again. You would think that the pace would be sort of alow and at times boring because it is a retelling of the first book in Hardin's pov, but it's so much more than that. We get a closer look at Hardin and a deeper look into his mind from when he first met Tessa and it's so... captivating! It's not a straight retelling, and it gives us as readers a new perspective of the early days of Hessa, gives us old favorites in new ways that are at times more heartbreaking than the original! I quickly fell in love with Hardin in After, despite his arrogance and his overall bad attitude, and getting closer to the root of his actions was hugely rewarding to see throughout Before. That's not all we get. We also get some short stories about a few characters BEFORE we met them in After, and also a look at some we meet as Hardin and Tessa's love story plays out. I must say, out of all the short stories, Smith's may be my favorite one as well as Molly's. This book was all kinds of amazing and I so wish this wasn't the end. It has been an incredible ride seeing these characters grow and change so much from book to book, and getting a peek at their lives after the epilogue in After Ever Happy has me in happy tears. I will really miss all of these characters, but none more than Hessa.
