Embrace what people show you

This is my very first book by TL Swan. And I listened to the audio because my fav Shane East was narrating and it was absolute perfection.

Mr. Spencer was everything. He was a perfect combination of childish, sexy, and honest. Charlotte was sweet, smart, and suffocated. I think what I enjoyed most about this book is the ability to get to know the characters through their everyday lives. Both of them led such different lives and yet when they were together they were both such a stronger, relaxed version of themselves. I laughed so many times while listening to this book and I felt ALL the emotions in the end.

Time to go backward, read Mr. Masters, and prep for Mr. Garcia #swoon

Wish there was an option for half stars, probably would give 2.5 instead of 3. This book was a struggle for me to get through and to be engaged. The middle really dragged only because I was waiting for the thing that broke them apart for almost the whole book. Then for it to happen with only 20% left, I kind of felt meh about it? I also wasn't very satisfied with the ending. Kind of wished they could have been happy together for the whole book and cut a few pages out. We already had a lot of strife with the family drama/dynamics, the extra layer at the end seemed unnecessary. AND although Spencer is very hot, honestly the

I’m mad I didn’t dnf this. But it was just interesting enough that I was like no, I’m gonna keep going. But Jesus. There were so many details in here that literally went nowhere.
There was a scene where charlotte climbs a tree to see who her brother is sleeping with (which first of all why?) and then she sees him naked, falls out of the tree traumatized, and we never find out who he was with. Then out of nowhere her bodyguard asks Spencer if he me ever been with a man, he’s brought up one more time, and then totally forgotten
I have never seen two people more incompatible than Spencer and Charlotte. There is no way in hell these two stay married. She is insufferable. And Spencer should have ended up with Sheridan. A cute friends to lovers would have been much better than this nonsense. Her family sucks too. And so does her friend Lara, Lana? Idk I forget her name but she’s terrible. The jealousy and other women drama also sucked. The only good part was the blind date they went on. Which took 200+ freaking pages to get to!! Man I don’t mind a long book, and yeah this was a fast read, but this could have easily been cut to 300 pages, and told the same exact story.

Spencer and Charlotte meet at a wedding, and even though they were both warned away from each other, their attraction to each other was too strong to deny. When they spend time together, they realize how much they enjoy each other's company on top of the intense chemistry they have. Things heat up between them and Charlotte lets Spencer know that she is a virgin and his reaction is definitely not supportive.

Their next meeting happens to be on a double date when Spencer is her friend's date. This time she tells Spencer that she is no longer a virgin. This little lie carries on for a while into their relationship. Spencer eagerly pursues Charlotte but she is hesitant. Eventually she gives in and they quickly end up in a relationship. This is very much instant love, within a week they are saying I love you. But their relationship comes with many obstacles: her father, the paparazzi, Spencer’s ex, and even her brother William. They stood by each other through every obstacle that was thrown their way and overcame it together, until a secret involving William was revealed. Wow, the pain and heartache was so wonderfully written in this part. I actually felt Spencer’s pain the most even though he was supposed to be the one in the wrong.

Spencer and Charlotte were a perfectly imperfect pair. Any time they touched was pure fire. I loved how Spencer went from manwhore to a one woman man because of how quickly he fell for Charlotte. They both made mistakes throughout the book but they both loved each other so much. I did feel like the ending was a bit rushed. One minute Spencer isn’t ready to forgive Charlotte and the next minute they are back together. Shane East and Sofia Lette did an amazing job with their narrations. Only Shane East could turn me on with his yelling and angry voice!

she did not deserve the mmc. Not nearly enough groveling from her for how she constantly treated him as not enough
