I had such a fun time reading this book! If you like enemies-to-lovers, multiple, murderous MMCs, academy (or prison, depending on how you look at it!) romance, (multiple) fated mates, and slow burn steam that promises to someday be hot, hot, hot spice, you will enjoy this read!
I loved Lia’s character and am anxious to see her character grow. Savage is my favorite bad boy, but I can’t wait to see what happens with our other bad boys. If you are a fan of Darkmore Penitentiary/Zodiac Academy, you will get very similar vibes within a unique storyline with this book.
The writing was engaging and easy to follow. I feel the author did a good job of building this world and sucking you into the plot. I am here for the sequels—definitely plan on continuing the series!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This follows Aurelia who has been kept a secret and treated like crap by her family since the discovery of her shifted court. She is on the run to get her freedom but her mates and the principal of the prison school are out to get her. Along the way, secrets will be revealed and can she escape her father?
I loved this book. It’s not often I read fantasy but this is more romance-heavy with a great plot it’s just what I needed and love. Her mates are morally grey, brutal and delicious. I can’t wait to see more of Xander and Scythe in the coming books. Aurelia is fantastic as well as her strength in resisting the inevitable. I hurt feeling the resistance and tension between the characters. Also, the 4th mate is revealed in this book and I guessed it early on. I was like this man needs to be one of her potential mates which I was screaming when it was revealed!
Fantastic plot, characters and is easy to follow.
I honestly can’t wait for the next book as this left on a cliffhanger but I’m happy to wait. Don’t sit on this book pick it up!

An academy book for adults .... stay with me here, its good.
Aurelia is just a serpent shifter princess living her best life until it is discovered she's not what her father ordered in an heir, and her life takes a turn for the worse.
And then one day, she has to run from a crime she didn't commit, and ends up in a prison academy.
No, really. Its a Juvenile Detention Centre for young Shifter adults who need to learn some manners, or who have been deemed not safe to be out in public with the humans. And we're not talking please and thank you. These students (lets be honest, inmates is more accurate) have committed actual crimes, so a three year college experience is deemed the appropriate rehabilitation, all thrown in with other troubled shifters from all different groups, and just for fun we have a lot of fated mates in the mix, some even get to find their soul mate while doing time!
So that already sounds pretty awesome, and then along comes our poor lost princess Aurelia and The Slaughter Brothers, a trio of violent bloodthirsty junior crime kingpins who should be in actual prison for their crimes, and BOOM - just like that we're in the thick of a bully / enemies to enemies / why choose / college romance unlike any other!
I loved the characters and the relationships - there is SO much tension built through the book and Aurelia really knows how to stir the pot for maximum conflict, and the dynamics of the cast are really well crafted.
This is book one of a series and it builds beautifully to the conclusion, which of course just leaves us wanting MORE and searching for release dates for book 2!!
Will you question your emotional investment in this book? Absolutely.
Should you read it? YES. Read it now. Go on, go read it, its way better than my review!

This was a good book! It really was! The story line was great and kept my attention. I enjoyed the characters and all of the toxic energy, sexual tension, and just overall conflict between them all. The ending was also good, obviously since this is book 1, it ended on a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger it was! With that said, it took me awhile to read this book. It was painfully slow at times. I feel like a good quarter to half of the book could've easily been removed and it all would've flowed better and the story wouldn't have really missed anything.

I wasn’t sure what to expect considering it’s going to be five books long, but I was pleasantly surprised. I do wish I had known that there was a prequel before I started reading it. It would have helped to tie a few things together; however, I did get the general gist and will be reading the prequel momentarily. You don’t find out about the prequel until the end of the book. That’s probably it’s only negative for me.
Throughout the book we meet Aurelia, daughter of the Serpent Order King and an eagle shifter mother. Upon her 13th birthday, she shifts for the first time and then finds out she has five mates, and not from her serpent order. Her mating is unique, and her father is furious about it, especially when she doesn’t shift into a serpent as he expected. After visiting a seer, she discovers that she is linked to five different orders – including The Slaughter Brothers – a wolf, Savage, and a shark, Scythe. They, along with their chosen brother, Xander, a dragon shifter, pursue Aurelia intent on killing her.
We follow their story as they navigate their arrests and punishment in a rehabilitation college. I love Aurelia’s roommate, Minne, too. She’s adorable. I also picked who Aurelia's fourth mate was, and this is confirmed late in the book.
This ends on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait for book two.

By the time I was 40% into this book, I knew I was going to go into withdrawn after I finished it. There's so much left untold between Aurelia and the three men she knows are her mates. They think she's a spoiled brat who for some unknown reason rejected them. She learns about something they did, something that's unforgivable to her. They have no reason to trust each other, but as you're reading, you kind of wish somehow they'd just talk and realize what's actually going on. Aurelia has too much to lose, however, so it makes sense that she can't tell anyone her secrets.
Often, I felt bad for Aurelia. She's stuck between a rock and a hard place, and then she learns she's even more stuck than she thought. Thank goodness she makes friends in the book, but for a while, despite that, she feels alone due to her secrets, and she kind of is. Even so, more people end up helping her even without knowing what's going on, exactly, and you can't help but cheer her on for any chance to stand up for herself or to rebel that she can take. She definitely doesn't take stuff laying down, and I love the fire she has and her snark!
By the end of the book, it becomes a bit darker. I admit, a tear or two was shed in the last chunk of it. A few people know at least a part of who she really is, and when her father comes to take her away, it's officially revealed to readers (and those present at the time in the book) when she executes her plan of escape. We're left on a bit of a cliffhanger for the next book.
I can't wait until the next one is out!
