We met Jack in Rapunzel's Revenge where he was more of a sidekick, but this is more his story. The reader gets a clearer picture of his past and why he became the mischievous outlaw he was when Rapunzel met him. Together, Jack and Rapunzel must journey back to Jack's home and save his mother and his hometown.

I'm still enjoying these books. The good guy/bad guy dynamic is good, the incorporation of strange fantastical characters with regular people is good. It's good.

This is a completely different book than [b:Rapunzel's Revenge|2626492|Rapunzel's Revenge (Rapunzel's Revenge, #1)|Shannon Hale|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1421704442l/2626492._SX50_.jpg|2651193], despite being the second in the series.
This had an urban setting, and more of a sci-fi or steampunk feel to it, than fantasy. There were giants, man-eating huge ants, and a (near) love-triangle.

Just because you liked the previous book does not mean you will like this one. I didn’t enjoy it so much, and am not sure I’d read a third book, if one came out.

Content:
A kiss. Talk of giants and ants eating people, crushing their bones, and throwing them to their deaths.

This graphic novel is a sequel to Rapunzel's Revenge - I don't think it's quite as good as the first, but still lots of fun. Some neat twists that give a fun spin to the old story.

I know. I know. Everybody loves Rapunzel's Revenge. I, however, found it . . . mediocre. Cool idea. Fun characters. Nice retelling. But no energy.
This, however, has plenty of energy. And I like Jack better than Rapunzel.
So . . . it's better!

It was pretty good, but I liked the first one better.

Really enjoyed this take on the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale! The artwork was very eyecatching and vibrant. I wish I had read the first in the series right before reading this one, though. In the few months since I've read it, I had forgotten some key elements!

was i supposed to read Rapunzel's Revenge first? dunno, but the story in this went well without having read RR before it. giant, giant ant people, rapunzel as a kind of Annie Oakley with a red-haired braided lasso. a little victorian steampunk thrown in, all graphic. nice.

Delightful sequel (and partially prequel) to Rapunzel's revenge.
