I don’t normally read or love romance books but this was entertaining and heartwarming. I enjoyed the flirty nerdy banter between Amy and Daniel. The plot was overall predictable but still fun to listen to. I’m not a mom and perhaps would relate to it more if I were but at times I found her motherhood martyrdom trite and annoying. She was selfish and her friendship felt one sided. Talia (her single, New York career woman bff) and Lena (her single, lesbian, ex-nun bff) were breaths of fresh air and my favorite characters.

You know you're old when you feel much more sympathetic towards the mother rather than the child...I feel like when we read stories, they're always about how a child deals with their parent coming back. But we never think about what it feels like to be abandoned by your spouse or for them to just come back. We never look at how the parent who stuck around feels. And this was good insight into it. The book was a big draggy or boring at moments, and the ending felt a bit rushed, but I had a great time reading it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy read with a little bit of adventure #momspringa !

As a new mom living the life of 2 under 2 - I could use a momspringa myself! Listened to this one via audible, really enjoyed it.

Probably 3.5 stars to be honest.
Lots of good fantasy material here- excellently bookish heroine living in small town with beautiful house and great friends, leaving for an amazing time in NYC with a makeover, great dates, great clothes, great new love. ex-husband is equally worth it and not worth it (not enough to ditch new life to go back to for all of the good reasons). I appreciated the fact that it wasn't just the one week- that the story and relationships had a more realistic time to build.

Not sure why I keep (accidentally) picking books with moms of teenage girls in them. And then to have the teenage girl have to go into surgery. Been there. Done that. Miss my girl.

I really enjoyed this book. As a mother of a daughter I really felt a lot of their conversations. I also have felt the need to just get a break from everything. My kids are grown and I can sometimes feel like I need a break from all the chaos of my life. My one major problem with the book is that with all the trendy name droppings I feel this will quickly become dated. Other than that it was a easy feel good read. Not too mushy. Not too serious.
