I couldn't have read a better sequel!

This book already has so much going on, but I still want more!

I love how Lina has developed! I mean come on! One minute ahe was like in some gladiator movie then suddenly she's in Maximum ride! Haha! There's just so much to take in!

At this point, I'm quite afraid that I won't be finding a series that will keep me on my toes like this one.

A very well deserved 5 stars!! :)

3.5 stars. The trouble with reading indie books on KU is often times the editing is very poor and seemingly nonexistent... This book suffers from grammatical errors and slight inconsistencies, which I have learned to mostly look past. The last book felt like it was written through google translate and I’m not sure if I just got used to it, or if the writing improved. As far as the story goes, there are a few things I’ve scratched me head at. For example, the Soars can make it to the other world in 3 days, but in the first book it took the Ravens 2 weeks... Anyway, forgiving these slight mistakes, this book also offers up some tropes that I normally cringe at: 1) A main character everyone desires, 2) a broody, semi-violent and dominating love interest that is actually a softy, 3) the main character keeps lying and hiding shit even though she keeps learning over and over again that it always does more harm than coming clean, 4) the enemy is entirely evil, horrible to their subjects, with no saving grace or good quality to speak of... etc. All that being said, I like the individuality of all the characters and the story has me wanting to see how this ends, so I will keep going.

[b:Fantasy of Flight|35082747|Fantasy of Flight (The Tainted Accords, #2)|Kelly St. Clare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1494348622l/35082747._SX50_.jpg|44515337] *chefs kiss* just superb.

I was not planning to enjoy this book as much as I did. I was slow at getting into [b:Fantasy of Frost|35082746|Fantasy of Frost (The Tainted Accords, #1)|Kelly St. Clare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1494420275l/35082746._SX50_.jpg|43721083]; it took two attempts a few months apart to actually start & commit to it. Once I was in though, I was a goner, & I haven't stopped reading since then. I'm afraid the current burning in my eyes will be a new permement thing. 100% WORTH IT.

Olina has fled from Jovan's men, thinking she will be doing a quick recon in the outter rings, trying to find Kendricks killer. Sneaking out isn't too difficult - she takes off her veil & no one is the wiser.

Things get complicated when she's cornored by Whore Hunters (aka human traffickers) & is taken in by the owner of a fighting house, Alzona. She can't tell anyone who she is or where she has come from without exposing her secret. She has no choice but to stay at the barracks, & train with Alzona & her men - Ice, Blizzard, Avalanche, Flurry, Shard, & the administrative presence Crystal. Olina is an outsider, kept separate training with just Alzona, then trains with the men eventually before her first time in the ring. She takes down her first opponent easily. They dub her Frost, & she is a fan favorite.

Long story short, Found Family Trope is coming in hot, & I was not expecting it, nor did I think I'd love them all so much. Sin & Willow included! I laughed (outloud) & cried.... several times. Also very unexpected

I was hooked with the action as the fighters trained for the big one, and then in the Dome. The consequences of which had me chewing my finger nails away in anticipation. King Jovan, man. I never know what to expect from him.. & I totally love it.

⭐️⭐️ BOOK REVIEW ⭐️⭐️
Book 2 of the Tainted Accords, Fantasy of Flight, was not as gripping as the first book. It took a little while to warm up, but when it did it was great! Some fabulous new characters who I hope to see the coming books. New settings, which were refreshing. The book is a good bit darker than the first, more aggressive and seedy but a lot funnier too, the balance was spot on. Triumphs and losses in equal measure which gave the book a real rollercoaster feel. There were times where long descriptions were given on particular items which I felt was unnecessary, as a reader I was happy to use my imagination and felt these sections were just too wordy and actually got a little confusing. Lots of great little side stories along the way too. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

*I received a copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review.*

I really enjoyed this novel. There were some problems I had with it that kept me from giving it a higher rating. Portions of the first half of this novel dragged for me somewhat and I didn't feel like it added as much to the original story as I had hoped. Lina became a top fighter, which was fun to experience, but I didn't feel like the overall story progressed as much as it should have. Later in the novel the opposite happened. Things were too rushed for me, but important to the story introduced in book one.

I did really enjoy this. I'm very excited to read the next book and see where it takes the characters from here. I have a lot of questions and I'm hoping it has the answers.

4.5 stars! Perfect trashy YA wish fulfillment read. I loved Olina’s badassery in this book, however cheesy it may have been.

The main love interest still has issues though. At least she calls him out on them I guess...

I completely forgot about this series until it showed up on my feed and this was legitimately my favorite series back in the day and definitely sparked my enemies-to-lovers obsession. HAVE to reread this year.
