Unlovable by Sherry Gammon

A bit long and dragged out and I wouldn't say the writing was really the greatest - the characters weren't all too believable - but that said, I did quite enjoy this as an easy read between books for uni. It really reminded me of [b:Cross My Heart|10801027|Cross My Heart (Cross My Heart, #1)|Katie Klein|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1327886049s/10801027.jpg|15714317] by Katie Klein (which I love), but not quite as good.

I so cannot wait for book #2 to come out!! Unlovable was soo addicting. I always needed to know what was happening next! And I absolutely love Seth and Maggie! Perfect for each other. Maggie hasn't always had the greatest life, so I love that Seth is there for her!

Awe what a completely amazing story. I remember Donna having read this last year, and telling me how incredible it was. I finally got around to reading it last month and I completely enjoyed it.

I loved every minute of this book. The characters were easily likeable (except Maggie's mother) and I enjoyed seeing all the characters develop as the story went on. The relationship between Seth and Maggie was wonderful. It kept me on the edge and made me want so much for them to have a happy ending. They were full of passion and anger, and both delved into the unknown when it came to growing closer together. Maggie is extremely strong but quite timid and closed off in the beginning which is to be expected considering all the crap that she goes through in this book with regards to her mother. I loved seeing her develop into a much more confident person once Seth entered her life on a full time basis. Seth is wonderful too. He's the older guy, and he's been in love with Maggie for a long time, and I admired him so much in the book when he was willing to take on everything just for a chance to spend time with Maggie, at first as a friend and then as a lover.

This story is incredibly emotional, you will end up feeling pretty drained afterwards, but it's so worth the read. With multiple points of view throughout the book we get to see different reactions to the happenings around Port Fare itself. We even get inside the minds of both the Dreser brothers who are the baddies. Although it's a little creepy and the story would have worked just as well without it, it was good to read about their thoughts. All the secondary characters like Booker and Cole were fantastic, they brought a nice dynamic to the story and I look forward to reading more on them.

Overall this was a wonderful story, and I felt so many different emotions whilst reading this. Love, passion, anger, sadness. Every kind of emotion just shines through in here. And Sherry Gammon is quite the story teller. I look forward to books two and three that involve Cole and Booker from their POV's, And I especially look forward to the movie that was announced a while a go!

Absolutely fantastic, and any fans who enjoy a gritty story where love conquers all then this is definitely a book you need to check out; and soon!

I loved this book. I was very hesitant to read it because I am so tired of the high school drama reads, but I'm glad I did. It was everything I was looking for in a love story.

I enjoyed this story for the most part -- I admired the main character's strength despite her very horrible living circumstances. I did find it kind of hard to believe that an undercover DEA agent (albeit a young one) would really fall that hard for one of the students. And at times I got annoyed with the heroine's decisions (or lack thereof). But it was a great story about overcoming obstacles.

I really enjoyed this. Working undercover as a high school student, Detective Seth it told to get close to Maggie, suspected heroin user who lives with her abusive, alcoholic mother. He doesn't believe good student and nice girl Maggie is involved but suspects her mother may be and he has been crushing on Maggie so he follows orders and the two fall in love. There are the requisite vengeful drug dealers to add an element of danger, along with the expected fall out from Seth lying to Maggie. While none of this is new or original, it works because it is well written with good characters (and there are so many of this type of story because WE LIKE THEM). Seth & Maggie are likeble and very sweet together. Their actions and reactions are believable. Seth can't tell her what he is doing, then when he can is afraid of losing her. Maggie feels legitimately betrayed and reacts by lashing out and wanting be left alone before forgiving Seth. This all felt real to me as did the timing of Maggie's rejection and forgiveness.

3.5 stars -- It started with such a bang...and in the end I was always waiting for the Preface to happen in real life, so it might have made me a bit distracted. I loved so many parts of it, loved the characters -- but it also felt a bit slow and disjointed in parts for me. So I guess in the end I was torn. Will it stop me from reading the rest of the series (when it finally comes out)?? HELL NO! I just...I don't even know.

Do you ever wonder if what's happening in your life can partially affect the book you're reading? Like not a lot, but maybe a half star or more?

3.5 stars Great contemporary ya romance. Clean and sweet. Though fairly violent. Although the age difference between Maggie and Seth didn’t bother me as much as some readers. It did shock me that his police captain, Booker supported it. Especially, when she was underage. Booker even calls Maggie jailbait for half the book, which means he saw that she was young. But he doesn’t warn or caution Seth about her.

The book did have minor mistakes, which are common for indie books. And there were some plot elements that I thought could have been tightened up. However, overall I really enjoyed the story, and I'm looking forward to the two companion books.

This is the story of a young woman who hasn't been dealt a fair hand in life. It is a story of the journey of the relationship with her alcoholic mother, as well as everything she has to deal with as a high school senior: including a new boy in school who may just be what she has been waiting for. But despite all of the hard knocks in her life, she has to come to terms with the fact that she can be loved.
