An excellent listen with a first rate reader, Jim Dale, for a wonderful book--much fun.

What an absolute treat. This book is utterly magical. It transported me to another time and place that was a bit mysterious, a little bit dark and entirely awesome and wondrous. Loved it.

While the book is confusing at the beginning, and it seems it's pulling you in all directions, the story itself is extremely captivating. You literally have to let yourself go by the circus
Fantastic book! Made me wish that there truly was a Night Circus to visit! I loved the narrative between characters and the vivid description of the atmosphere of the circus. Definitely worth reading. (The book had a bit of a Charles deLindt flavor to it.)
Even though I read this book 3 years ago (this week), I remember it vividly. I remember all of the beautiful imagery of the night circus, it's black and white with splashes of red color scheme. The interesting characters in the circus, and the neighborhood boy drawn in by its charms.
And then I tried to remember its plot. The rival magicians and their two protégés, and the weird society of magicians. Oh yes, I remember . . . being confused. And thinking that it didn't make that much sense. And then finishing and wondering why all of the weird plot loose ends and the bizarre ending.
Oh yes, the book was huge on atmosphere, but very weak on plot. The characters were vividly drawn in their physical descriptions, but nonsensical in their actions and not that distinguishable in their personalities. On the whole, this book was much more window dressing than satisfying.

This book is artistic and beautiful with descriptions that truly come life and ignite all of your senses. If you are looking for a book that has a very quick paced plot then this isn't the book for you. But if your in the mood for something mysterious and mystical then this truly a great read. With a magical dream like quality that is unlike anything I have ever read ! It will forever be one of my most favourite books!

I am drenched in the world of the Night Circus, like I've been there, seen the wonders and magic of the circus, and met the people on the pages of this book just by reading it. The concept is fascinating, and how the magic works is left somewhat mysterious to the reader, which I love. You get caught up in the excitement of everything on the page and everything the characters do or feel.
That being said, there is so much going on in this book, so many perspectives and places this story takes us, that it got hard to keep track of what happens when, even if they're labeled. It gave me a bit of whiplash at some points.
Did I like most of the cast? Yes. Did I like Marco? ehhhh. He grows or whatever, but he felt powerful because he had to, which is valid, but kinda made me wonder why him? Why not someone else? And before anyone says love, I'm convinced that is not enough of a reason in the case of this novel, given there is another example of a challenge on the pages. Plus marco is a total fucking buffoon. He didn't have to be perfect, but that guy is an idiot, and I will be petty for that.
If you want to read something that you can lose yourself in, read this, or if you like the circus or revelry, you should also read this.
