Giovanna's books are always so sweet! I love this sequel to "Billy and me". It's been great reading about these characters again and meeting new ones.
This book almost made me cry, for more reasons than the story itself and I had to put it down a few times for my own good. But I'm so glad I've read it.
I love the positivity Gio puts in her books, it's almost magical.
I really can't wait for her next novel.

This is not a bad book, really, but I was not very impressed by it either. It seemed a bit directionless and uneventful. I really love Giovanna and I feel kind of bad about giving a not-so-great-review, but I have to be honest. The first part of the book was a lot better than the last part, it seemed to kind of loose it's way half-way through. Some of the plot devices used were way too generic and predictable. I didn't like the characters as much as I did in "Billy and Me". It all just didn't feel like "enough" to justify a sequel. I didn't expect a literary masterpiece, but as this follows "Dream a little dream" - which I loved - I was a bit disappointed as I know Giovanna can do so much better.

(Giovanna, if you're reading this (hehe), please know that I love you and your writing. I'm looking forward to reading more from you in the future!)

Having been an avid reader of Giovanna Fletcher's books in the past, I was eager to find out about Billy and Sophie's latest adventures. Although I enjoyed reading the story and was hooked in the beginning I couldn't help feeling underwhelmed and a little disappointed for a few reasons...
1. It tended to ramble in places and I got to about halfway through the book and realised that nothing much had happened
2. The language. I couldn't be the only reader who thought the way Sophie referred to her mum as looking 'delicious and dreamy' in a wedding dress was a bit odd, not to mention the way she answered the phone to her boyfriend with 'Hello Mr Buskin'.
3. The way it dealt with death. This was the main reason for my frustration as I thought some of the things said in reference to Sophie's dad's death were either unrealistic or unsympathetic to those in a similar position.
4. The character of Sophie seemed to lack any depth and I found myself wishing that she'd have something a bit more about her. I didn't connect with her and therefore didn't really care about what happened to her and her relationship!
Perhaps 2 stars is a little harsh considering I did enjoy parts of if it but the things that annoyed me REALLY annoyed me but I don't think this will stop me reading any of Giovanna's books in the future as I have thoroughly enjoyed her others.

I absolutely loved this book and devoured it in a few days. It had been a while since I read the first instalment (‘Billy and Me’), but I was sucked straight in to Sophie and Billy’s story again.
In this one we see Billy and Sophie living on different sides of the Atlantic, with Billy in LA and Sophie running her tea shop in Rosefont Hill. It was quite and emotional read for me in some places, and I truly loved seeing how they dealt with the distance in their relationship.
The letters they wrote to each other were a really special part of the novel for me, and I loved the plot focused around Sophie’s mum!
As always, a great book for me is one which makes me feel something, and finishing a book with tears in my eyes shows how it was a winner for me.

Giovanna has done it again!!!! I absolutely love her and her writing. Her stories are the perfect easy read that you can't help but get sucked into. I gave it 4.5 stars for the mere reason that I did prefer Billy & Me (only slightly). & that ending!? I NEED MORE!

I wanted to love this but I thought Sophie was a very tedious narrator the whole way through. I enjoyed 'Billy and Me' because it was such an easy read but it took me a while to get through this.

That ending nearly made the book 5 stars for me!

An enjoyable, easy read but I didn’t love it as I had loved Billy and Me.

Again, I found the writing style to be slightly childish and at moments dialogue seemed forced and rather flat. Like Billy and Me, it also reads rather like a first draft in places, with language such as 'vitamin d quickly dispersing across my bare skin and working it's magic' that completely distract from the flow of the narrative.

Despite the writing style, I still appreciate the characters and the general story line. It was nice to catch up with these characters, although the ending did feel slightly rushed.

I loved this book, although I feel like I'm too emotionally invested in Sophie & Billy's relationship to give a semi-decent review without gushing over everything. I think that's partly due to the fact I relate to Sophie a lot & I see myself in her & who doesn't want to be whisked away by a very attractive movie star?! Anyway, if you loved "Billy & Me", and were left wanting more at the end of the book, this is just what you're after.
