Girls bond as the work in a peach orchard. Typical chick-lit. Note some content may not be suitable for all readers.

This book was a little hard to get into but once i did it was good. I didn’t really care about Leeda i thought she complained way to much but that was what she was suppose to represent. I just didn’t like it. Murphy I didn’t understand why would you say all those mean things to your best friend when you don’t even mean any of them you do not need to be tough all the time. Birdie was my absolute favorite she is the reason i kept reading the books because she was just so darn cute and the only one i really cared about. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or anyone who wants a good summer book to read with a happy ending.

This book is my favorite comfort book ever and I didn't know I needed to read it again right now, but I absolutely did!

I first read this book when I got my first nook back in 2011, when Barnes and Noble was doing Free Nookbook Fridays and this was the book! I've read it quite a few times since then and it always makes me feel better and right at home.

This time when reading it, I felt an even deeper connection to the setting. I currently live only five hours from the town where the book is set, and I know the area it takes place in.

If you are in need of a light fun book, I definitely recommend this one. It gets me right in the heart every time!

The Darlington Orchard is not doing well. Leeda, Murphy, and Birdie are there for different reasons. Murphy is there as punishment, Leeda is there because her parents didn't want her going on vacation with her boyfriend Rex, and Birdie is the owner's daughter. All three have different motivations and no real reason to get along, but they find a friendship that works for them.

This was a well-written book. At times I just lost interest. The characters had a decent amount of complexity. Overall I think the most impressive character is Birdie. She realizes her potential by the end of the book and has become the instrument of her own happiness. Leeda and Murphy add a little extra to the story but I was more interested in reading about Birdie and her interactions with Leeda, Murphy, her father, and the workers at the orchard.

a la Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants... except there are no pants and no traveling. it's a story about three teen-aged girls and their developing friendship. the setting is a peach farm and each of the girls is a fairly stereotypical character: the rich pretty one, the promiscuous brave one, and the chubby nice one. this part bothers me especially the characterization of the promiscuous one. the differences in their personalities are a little too pat to be authentic. it's formulaic, but enjoyable if you like that kind of candy.

I was trying to figure out why I like this book. It's kind of slow, and the characters aren't all that interesting or original. Not to mention the utterly useless, rambling prologue. But then I realized that it's like a fluffy chick lit version of The Secret Garden! Three lonely neglected kids, bonding over cultivating plants. Sniffle, it's so beautiful.

Brain candy! Terrible role models for a teenage girl but it's wonderfully vapid for a lazy afternoon.
