I would have preferred if he thought she was pretty from the start. I don’t really understand as she is beautiful in the cover image and he is… blue (isn’t he described as light grey?).

Sometimes I liked it but sometimes I was bored.

I don’t think the magic/world/demographic was explained at all, but I guess these books aren’t meant to be overly complex.

I don’t really think there was an ending - it was super weird. I don’t get why it ended then they started with the epilogue as I think the stuff that happened in the epilogue should be part of the main book right?

Anyway points for him being a good guy unlike the last book with the guy who liked to publicly humiliate her (Slaying the Shifter Prince).

I didn't love this but I really didn't hate it either.
Classic romantasy stuff and perfectly bingeable.
I will absolutely be checking out the rest of the series.

I feel like the ending was rushed and just kind of summarized, kind of left me wondering what the point of the plot even was

This book is a standalone installment of the “heart-pounding fantasy romance series, Mortal Enemies to Monster Lovers!"

I really enjoyed the dynamic between the two MC's. It was a really good read!

DNF at 4% (KU) writing was bad, lots of telling rather than showing. Clunky dialogue

I was really excited to read Slaying the Frost King and it did not disappoint.

Stuff that I liked:

The characters were great. I think the enemies to lovers with mortals vs. gods/fae is a pretty well explored trope with certain character elements that work and this book had them. Morozko has the arrogance that comes with having a boatload of power and longevity. Eirah have the convictions of a person that knows who she is but in a way that isn't jaded and lacking compassion. Both characters give major Disney Beauty and the Beast vibes. There were also a bunch of side characters that I felt had the right amount of page time. Maybe the wolf and the owl could have had more.

The spice was good. It felt on par with the development of their relationship which was sweet and believable.

Stuff that was a little meh: I felt like the story started to drag in the middle. It started very interesting and then once it got to the external conflict of the book, things started to slow down. And then the ending came very quick. I thought we would see a little more in the epilogue but we didn't.

Overall this was a good read. I would for sure read more from both of these authors. Also I love the cover.

This book was okay, definitely my least favorite in this series so far. It was pretty quick transition from enemies to lovers and the sex scenes were too frequent and too short. All in all enjoyable, but wouldn’t recommend over other books.
