Bessie just wants to be helpful - but leaves chaos and a mess behind.
Bessie starts her day with a walk. Her cousin Joe is having car trouble. Bessie is on the job! Plumber Pete has a computer on the fritz. Bessie is on the job! Gill's coffeemaker just won't work - Bessie is on it!
Poor Bessie just wants to solve her friends' problems - but Bessie needs to learn she can't just try to fix everything.
This is a great read for children - I especially loved the intro letter to parents. The purpose of the story is clearly detailed along with the explanation for using some complicated words to engage readers. And the map - always a joy. I loved the names of the streets, the creative rhyming - overall a very enjoyable read!

Bessie Bibbs' is a little monster, she’s cute and friendly. She likes to help her monster friends in the town which is a good, friendly thing to do, her heart is in the right place, but to help them she ends up telling them fibs, not just little ones but huge ones that lead to disaster.
First, I want to say that I loved the map of Hoppity thicket, the street names were funny and did give me a laugh and the pictures great. The book is written in rhyme which makes it even more fun to read with my five-year-old son and the illustrations are fantastic.
For a child that is only just starting to blend words together, I found that the pictures were enough for him to tell me what was happening in the book before I read the words on the page. He thoroughly enjoyed the troubles Bessie Bibbs' got into.
At the end of the book my son and I had a chat about what happened and we both agreed that telling fibs, no matter how big or small, is not a good idea and being honest is best!

Bessie Bibbs’ just can’t help but tell fibs. And whilst her intentions are good, they keep getting her into trouble ... with very messy consequences!

Age Range 3 to 7

Thank you to the author and Kelly @lovebookstours for an advance copy of this fabulous book!

Firstly let’s just say how catchy is this title! My little one now walks round the house saying it like a mantra

It's Sunday and that means it's time for some kid's literature. I found this gem scrolling through Bookstagram and I'm glad I stopped to take a peek.

Kids are hard to keep entertained, especially with reading books as their attention spans are just so short. Bessie Bibbs' Ginormous Fibs is highly entertaining. It's humerous, it's rhyming and the illustrations are great. I especially love the lesson built in on why fibs are bad.

This is a available in Kindle Unlimited and is worth the read if you have littles in your life.

Bessie Bibbs Ginormous Fibs is a short children’s story about a monster who is always telling fibs and getting herself into a mess. I really loved the foreword from the author and have searched his website and social medias for further books and information. The map and the illustrations were also really great and very eye catching, certain pictures in the book had my little one in stitches!

The only negative for me as a parent was the message of turning the other cheek if someone needed help, I feel this could have been worded better as the target audience are quite easily influenced, however the moral of the story to not tell fibs really hit home, as after we had finished the book my little one said that “telling fibs is naughty and it makes a lot of mess”

This was a great little book for me to read to my son, with him trying to sound out a few of the words on each page, as the target audience for this book is 3 – 7, my son is at the lower end of this so I read most of the book to him which we both enjoyed anyway, as it gave him opportunity to ask me 101 questions and for some words definitions. I liked the fact that this book was able to help my son compare the book to real life, as the minute the computers were mentioned/pictured he compared that to me and his daddy (as we work on computers allll the time apparently)

Final word from my son: I liked her (Bessie) she was crazy and always making a mess, I love this book, I give it 10 stars and I want to read it 10 more times!

I have been teaching the kids all about fibs recently, they seem to have started bending the truth a little so this book came at a really good time.

I loved the process it took to teaching the kids not to tell fibs and yet make it a fun story for them too.

Mine took it all in and made them think differently about it so that's a huge bonus to me!
