Maybe more like 2.75? This book I felt like started strong and had a set up to be really good but overall I kept getting stuck with many cheesy lines over and over with the character problems not being too hard? Or resolving very quickly? Now don’t get me wrong I’m a sucker for some cheesy wrong com but it felt more like self help inspiration quotes every other page/conversation.

wow wow wow

I spent majority of the book with tears in my eyes in the best way

Melissa’s writing is fantastic and I’m disappointed I haven’t read anything of hers until now

I cannot even begin to tell you what it means to read about someone who has the same medical stuff as you and the same fears — it was breath taking to see the journey Liv goes through while working through her self-love and medical diagnosis

Thank you Melissa, thank you

As a Knoxville resident, I was overjoyed to see a book set in Tennessee and even more so when it was GOOD!! The chemistry between Jax and Liv is immediate, despite her qualms about the relationship. Between the sweet treats, the songwriting, and the precious cat that is Mama, I was sold. This book also perfectly sets up the future series, as we'll be receiving a book for every member of the band plus Cash! Will I be impatiently awaiting Luca's book? Of course. But I have no doubt that the rest of the series will make it worth the wait.

I keep reading books with badass heroines and I’m loving it so much!

I adored Jax and Liv right from the start and the amazing friendship they developed throughout the story. Let me tell you, I know so many Livs —I know I was her— Powerful and talented women that have been seeing themselves in the eyes of people who never appreciated who they really are, and when they finally realize their worth, they get caught up in the lie that it’s too late for what they want. And I know so many Jax, people who have been wandering in life looking for the place where they belong, a family to come home to, a person to miss when they’re far away.

We all deserve a Jax in our lives, someone who sees the perfection in our imperfections and encourages us to be ourselves without apologizing or making excuses for it. We all deserve a Liv in our lives, someone whose arms are always open for us to run to whenever we need a home to go back to.

This book is about finding yourself, about finding love and friendship. This story is about doing what you love and the inspiration that comes when the right person is proud of who you are and what you have to give to the world.

This quote moved me to tears: «He encourages you to do the things you love instead of shoving them out of sight like they’re something to be ashamed of.»

Real love makes us believe in ourselves, because it believes we can. Real love fuels the flame in our hearts, it doesn’t extinguish it.

I’m reading this book again and I can’t wait for the next book to come out, because this gang stole my heart and I want to know how they’re all doing!

"Will you let me know you?"

Summary
Liv is a recently-divorced bakery owner trying to reconcile her new single life. When she and her best friend go to a concert for the new up-and-coming pop group Midnight in Dallas, sparks fly between Liv and the front man during a backstage meet and greet. Can Liv open her heart to someone new after being so badly hurt by her ex?

Why did I pick up this book?
I received an advanced copy of Book #3 in the series and wanted to start at the beginning.

What did I enjoy about it?
There were some comedic notes throughout, as is to be expected with a band of four dudes in their mid-twenties. I always have to give a shoutout to multiple perspectives, so props there. I also thought the concept was cute, small business owner falls for a celebrity. I didn't LOVE this book but will continue with the series despite.

What did I not enjoy about it?
Sadly, a lot. It rushed and dragged in all the wrong places, and most of the book felt it was on fast-forward. It felt unrealistic how fast they fell for each other with how much emotional damage they were both carrying. lastly, I read over 25 Romance novels this year alone, and this one felt the closest to a corny Hallmark movie, which I do not like.

I’m a sucker for dual POV books, mainly because I like seeing the different perspectives of situations. This book stole my heart within the first pages. The plot twist was timed perfectly in the story and it really helped pulled the whole book together. Lets not forget the humor thats added??? Literally the perfect book I don’t think I found one thing that I didn’t like.

awwww

A reluctant whirlwind romance with a country music hunk with chiseled abs. What’s not to like? What was unexpected was getting to watch Liv come into her own and become the bad ass that she never let herself be. I adored the found family troupe in this, and can’t wait to read about the other guys.
I feel like this book should have come with a cookbook and a music soundtrack.

Alright, so this was a fun book and I loved that it was a romance story with an “older woman” (not in her 20s anymore). Liv Sinclair meets rockstar Jaxon Slade and her life takes a turn in a different direction.
Their romance is definitely a quick attraction and I was a little worried at first, but their relationship developed in a really cute story. Jaxon is patient, understanding, sentimental, and crazy about Liv...earning him the right to be considered a great “book boyfriend”.
The story takes place in Nashville and the book is full of music references that music lovers will appreciate.

Liv and Jaxon deal with some serious topics but they’re handled in a mature way. Liv’s best friend and her daughter are integral to the story as are Jaxon’s band mates. This book really emphasized the theme of a chosen family.

Thank you to the author for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest review.
