i’ve been meaning to read this series for a while now, but somehow it got lost in my tbr and i forgot about it. that was until I received an ARC for the third book in this series the other day. because of that i decided it was time to jump into this series and boy am i glad i did!

this book was so sweet, cute, and funny!! ALL of the characters are super likable and i loved how they quickly became acquainted. I am most excited to see Dallas’s story (that is if he gets one like i think he should). this book moved fast and that’s one reason i loved it. there was never a point where i was bored or the story dragged on. i loved the pace of the book and couldn’t put it down.

this book is for you if you love everything music (especially country) but there is all kinds of music referenced in this book, Nashville, Tennessee, age gap, found family, and so much more to be honest. this book even brings awareness to endometriosis, something i’ve hardly ever seen mentioned in other books. this book does touch on substance abuse and it may be important to search trigger warnings for the book.

I’ve been in a weird reading rut lately and this book may have just put an end to it. i cannot wait to continue on to the next book :)

This is beautiful, I cannot put it down and I’ve read this one in a few hours. Liv and Jax were attracted since they first meet at a concert, it was instant. But Liv after her divorce doesn’t expect to find someone special. She is focused in her bakery, her cat mama and his friends. The bakery wasn’t her dream but it was what she had worked so many years, with her friend Ella and they put a lot of effort on it. After giving up on her dreams as an singer she just keep going with what she achieved.
Jax wants to get to know her, and he did. At first no matter their attraction to each other they were friends, they get to know each other and enjoy their time together. They cannot turn their backs to their feelings, but Liv needs her confidence back to go for her dreams in music and also like to enter into a new relationship; when she feels just not like herself anymore. And Jax is so understanding and respect the baby steps that Liv needs, in their relationship also their careers. It was beautiful, how they grow with each other, support each other and loves each other. They overcome every challenge and get their HEA. If you like love stories that will break your heart and put it back together, donut think it twice. Get this one.

Also the supportive characters are so good, I wanted to know their back stories as well. Love Ella and Grace, also love all of the band boys. Can’t wait to read the others.

I’ve receive a reviewer copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks @melissagrace for my reviewer copy!

“What if I do this? What if I go all in, and it doesn’t work out?”
“What if it does?”

Liv and Jax, both musicians in their own right, meet one night at a concert with instant attraction. Home is Where You Are tells their story as they get to know each other and learn how to work through that previous life experience they both bring to the table as well as how the world thinks they should be, whether together or apart.

This was such a sweet read! Melissa Grace jumped right in and introduced us to not only a sweet new couple, but also their whole group of found family and I completely fell in love. Grace managed to give justice to real topics (like infertility, people without housing, foster care and emotional abuse) while still keeping the story in the realm of a light romcom. The story is told in the dual POV of Liv and Jax and I felt that their characters were well balanced throughout.
Now that I’ve spent some time with the rest of the band, I am really looking forward to more of the series so that we can hear about their HEAs as well.

Though it’s hard to choose, brevity tends to be best, so here’s one thing I adored and one thing I didn’t.

✔️ I adored the donut jokes.
I love donuts and am always here for a pun so honestly, I chuckled with each one.

✖️ I wasn’t fond of the immediacy of the relationship.
It just happened so quickly with no prelude. This isn’t a problem with the book itself or the writing, simply that I prefer some more build up.

TW⚠️ infertility, miscarriage mentioned

☕Could be your cup of tea if you like:
→age gaps
→rockstar trope
→dual POV
→falling in love quickly

Quotes that stuck:

“I think you can be grateful for your success without being in love with every aspect of it.”

“Wait, what?” Jax looked over at me, confused. “I thought everyone liked donuts.”

“We don’t get to choose when we meet the right person, babe. Sometimes it happens when we least expect it.”

“Don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” –Dolly Parton

“Because how I felt about him changed how I felt about me.”

“The thing I remember being so painful about grief was that for so long, it felt like my entire world stopped, but everyone around me kept going on as though nothing even happened. Holidays still came and went, and the days passed like normal when it was anything but.”

“There are a million ways to make a family. There are a million ways to make a home.”

“No matter what you do, you’ll never have to do it alone.”

I’ve been awarded the wonderful opportunity to review Melissa Grace’s new book in the Midnight in Dallas series, so I wanted to make sure to start at the beginning before diving in. I am glad I did!

This book was SO cute. I love a good rom-com and this book had me smiling nonstop. The dialogue between characters gave me all the butterflies and I couldn’t help but salivate every time baked goods were discussed. I’m going to have to find myself some donuts and cupcakes ASAP

The Midnight in Dallas Series is just so romantic!! Follow the stories of Liv, Ella, and their incredible friends and chosen family through the trials and tribulations of falling for a rockstar in Home is Where You Are. Will Ella find love in Home Again? In Long Way Home, what will Jo gain after losing everything?
I love having closure in a story, and this series does just that! These three books can be read as standalone, but I definitely recommend reading all three! Melissa Grace does an incredible job of giving her characters meaning. Every character plays a part and each one is quite enjoyable!

The WHOLE series is incredible, but Home Is Where You Are is my FAVORITE!

Love isn’t about choosing who you think won’t hurt you. It’s about choosing who’s worth hurting for.
