Okay, I know I shouldn’t….like I REALLY shouldn’t….but I have to admit Chase “Dare” Darington is insane but so fuckin’ hot. And when I say hot I mean HOT, but DAMN if he is not the WORST “bad boy” I have ever read! Not in a bad way, but also in a bad way. From his intentions, to his personality to just the way he is two-faced. BEYOND horrible (but oh so hot!)

Sam I can’t begin to explain how in love I fell with this book. This story was so captivating I kept telling myself “just one more chapter, just one more. You can do this”

I have complicated feelings towards this one.  I loved it. But i also didn't.  It's a 5 star.  But it's also a 2...
I read dark romance a lot and there is usually some redeeming quality or at least a reason behind the mc's madness. There is nothing like that here.  Dare is a LITERAL psychopath.
And the heroine doesn't grasp the intensity of it until its too late.
So.... they are together at the end.  And happy? ! But it's not your traditional happy ending either.
I loved it.
And I didn't.

I went into this book not knowing what to expect besides it being dark and having non-con.

I came out on the other side just thinking that I thought Carter was horrible and yet so good.

This one just takes the cake. I do you wanna know at the prom what he took a picture of Hannah for, because knowing him it’s gonna be horrible.

But I’m glad he got his HEA with his reluctant Queen! I still think his crazy ex-girlfriend should’ve had time, as in jail time.

Because I don’t think Hannah deserves suffering with her again. But hopefully we will see her in the next few books, to see what’s happening!

Another bonus for me was I’m glad that the heroine‘s mother finally got the treatment she need it!

This was so dark and yet so great! Dare and Aubrey’s story is definitely different! Aubrey has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Dare and his crazy girlfriend makes Aubrey’s life even worse. What happens when Dare and his girlfriend make a plan against Aubrey?! This book is really dark so please check TW. This book is filled with so many twists and turns and possibly an unredeemable MMC?! Highly recommend.

Read to me by Alexa
🌶🌶 - for frequency and description ( which was kind of lacking.) it wasn’t fade to black but it wasn’t nearly as descriptive as some other smutty novels.

I really liked Dare even though he’s actually horrible. He was incredibly manipulative and nothing about this relationship was healthy. He was controlling but not as much as some other MMC’s. Dare implored more manipulative underhanded control most of the time vs outright dominance ( except during spicy scenes)

Aubrey was pretty naive when it came Dare and her story line didn’t entirely make sense. She’s effectively the adult in her household because her mother has cancer, but she isn’t bed ridden or too sick to enjoy activities at home. So it seemed kind of crazy that Aubrey is the one managing the bills and anything else that could be managed via an online account or phone call. She’s basically Dare’s side piece the majority of the book which I didn’t like but like Aubrey I was willing to look past this because we as the reader could see that he wasn’t actually with his existing psychotic girlfriend. And we as the reader could see that if he had just broken it off like she asked, the GF might legit have tried to kill her. But Aubrey didn’t know this and it was kind of crazy that she just accepted the situation with only part of the information we the readers had.

I gave this book 4⭐️ mostly because I like my H a little (or a lot) unhinged and morally grey ( or black) …. Dare fit the bill

Holy cow! I recently started reading Sam Mariano and I thought Untouchable had some uncomfortable parts but I have never read a story as disturbing as Dare and Aubrey’s. I like dark, controlling, obsessive, smart men who have their own code regardless of how morally reprehensible they might seem. And they have to be obsessed with the heroine. But Dare was difficult even by these standards. SM writes extremely manipulative heroes with goals of gaining power and control thereby creating their own “kingdoms.” Dare definitely had his charms and I still have a soft spot for him but yes the closet to psychopath Ive encountered (maybe the heroines in The Girl in 6E and the Mindf*ck series).

Now that I see that Untouchable was written first, it feels like she took Carter and Zoey and made them both more extreme to create this story. Carter is a potential Dare but Zoey essentially keeps him balanced. She helped him understand himself and gave him an outlet for his dark side. But Aubrey and Dare are more prey and predator than any other character ive read.
The ending definitely left me anxious. That line about room service?????

"She never had a single fucking thought about coming. That means I thought about her more than she thought about me today, and that’s unacceptable."

Trigger warning: non-con, rough sex, dubious actions, toxic relationship.

Help what a ride. The book was addicting and page turner. Dare is a lot to take in. While I see similarities between him and Carter (possessive, obsessed) he's deceitful, he has no limits. He does have a sort of empathy when it comes to Audrey tho.

Audrey... I don't mind doormats but this girl... She literally sees he's evil and that he perhaps is using her BUT she can't even refuse to have dinner with him. She's being insulted and thrown to the wolves , she cries and complains YET she does nothing to push him, not even once.

Overall I enjoyed the romance and how the story went. I was worried because of the reviews but I think you can perfectly see how Dare is into Audrey. I believe he's just untouchable and detachable and hard to read but I have to give that to the author because Dare being a sociopath or a psychopath, he doesn't feel love like any of us. It's not the same as a regular person would love, many would even say psychopaths and sociopaths don't fall in love, sociopaths can only feel a sort of fake love and something lighter. Dare might not understand love. It's hard to understand but to me it worked perfectly fine.

Now, i feel like there was a lack of answers when it comes to Dare. He obviously has something going on based on how he is and how restless he is but it wasn't explored or explained. Since the author said this couple journey ends here and they won't appear in the series again, we won't be getting any answers.

Sadly, i wished we had more Dare's background but I guess it won't happen.

If you loved Untouchable and there are no limits for you when it comes to readin, this is for you.
