Another sweet second chance romance
Once again the author has put together a sweet but emotional second chance romance after a married couple go through a difficult phase in their relationship due to misunderstandings.
I love her writing style as it is descriptive and evokes the feelings and emotions the characters are going through. The spicy scenes are beautifully done as well.

Ok, I admit, I like myself an anti-hero. The meaner the better! I'm a sucker for that bad boy/ jerk type. So, when I read the blurb for "The unwanted wife", I was excited to read it. While the basic plot of the 1st book was very reminiscent of a classic HP, I was shocked by the level of feeling Natasha Anders was able to bring out in that book. I literally sobbed. Buckets. And yet I still found myself rooting for the HEA. So, when I saw there was going to be a sequel I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, while the plot has that old school feel similar to the 1st, it never gets past the shallow setup of a classic HP and I actually found myself wishing it were shorter. The pacing was a serious issue for me. The "big misunderstanding" was the sole issue driving the plot and once that was over all that was left was a lot of groveling ( a lot)on the heros part. Too much for me.
I guess I just like my men a little more ruthless. *shrug*

“I’m sorry . . . ?”
“Is that a question? Or an actual apology?”

ehhh. i was ready to drop in the middle but for some reason i did continue reading. like there were some reasons for him acting like prick but like........
A husband’s regret? More like both husband and wife’s regret.
So, this is the story of a husband who regrets chasing away his wife and somehow believes his wife left him to suffer. Oh, god... I think the first one is much better angst.
But, let's cut the chase. He found her and belittle her. He uses her as revenge. Not to mention he also use their child as a tool for revenge. But joke on him. All of this was an illusion of his heart. He can't even think straight just because she was pregnant. So, she does what she thinks she should do.
I still love when he finally realised how messed up his life was. My favourite was when they finally talked and the accident was all about his hatred toward her. It is not like she abandoned him during his accident and recovered. The subsequent groveling really put him down. I like when she takes time to decide and enjoy her life. Yeah, who wants to stick with this kind of husband. And I think there is a power imbalance. He was rich while she was just a waitress.
But, it is the novel that people crave for a happy ending. So, yeah, they get back together. But the level of regret that the husband get made me at least satisfied. Let them suffer like the wife did before they are happy together.

I don’t like either of the main characters and just didn’t care enough to see how the story ended.
