What an awesome read! There were a lot of emotional moments, but with this amazing cast of characters, the heavy is well balanced with laughter, fun, sizzling chemistry, and true love. I’m once again impressed with how real, raw, and relatable Toni Aleo can portray real life issues like mental health struggles and breast cancer. Evan is just a well developed, beautifully written character that tugs on your heartstrings, because you’ve either felt like that in some way before, or you know someone fighting similar battles. Callie is the type of strong, loving, compassionate heroine, who you root for from the moment you meet her in an earlier book! Watching their story unfold was a joy. The best books are inspirational, cathartic, and entertaining all at the same time. This one is a must read!!

Saved by Love is one of those books that I need No-Doz after finishing because I stayed up and read until I finished the book. Then I had to read the epilogue a second time. SWOON!!!!!

I will confess it is always a good day when I can read stories with some of my favorite characters from earlier books. Toni Aleo writes fantastic characters that you want to bring into your home and never let them go. Saved by Love not only brought me characters from the Bellevue Bullies but also from the Nashville Assassins. Shea Adler never gets old.

Saved by Love is Evan Adler's story. He has struggled for years with mental health problems. His story brings understanding to his struggles and how he copes and at other times, doesn't cope. He is back in school as RA for the hockey house and trainer for the Gymnastic team. The same team that Nico's sister-in-law is a member.

Callie is off limits to everyone according to Nico. She is definitely off-limits to his teammates. He doesn't care that Evan is no longer on the team. He doesn't care that he is a good guy. He is an Adler and therefore persona non grata.

Opening the book opens the reader up to lots and lots of drama. It isn't just Evan and Callie. Time spent at the Adler house is guaranteed to bring lots of laughs and drama. Nico explodes with over the top drama. I swear I heard steam coming out of his ears.

Evan and Callie's journey to a happily ever after was a very enjoyable read. They have definitely become one of my favorite couples. Her strength makes him a stronger person, a better person.

I have been in a bit of a book slump lately, but this book pulled me out of it!

I am a huge Nico fan, so whenever he is mentioned in a book, I get a little giddy.

Evan and Callie were absolutely perfect for each other! I love how the author approached Evan’s mental health issues and how Callie and Evan’s involvement in the autism center was described.

I just loved every single thing about this book! Highly recommend if you are looking for a hockey romance.

Oh my goodness!! Evan Adler, you sweet, beautiful man! I absolutely adored Evan and his story. His strength, his growth, absolutely inspiring!
And Callie Pearce! Such strength and grace and a fierce love for others! Callie Pearce is an amazing heroine. Probably in my top 5 of all time Toni favorite females. Absolutely wonderful!

This story was so emotional! I was crying by 11% in! And the feels only increased the farther in the story I got. Toni is amazing at writing those deep soul searching, heart wrenching stories and this is just her latest great installment! As always, I can’t wait for what she comes up with next!

Evan has given up a career he was destined for to serve others. Callie is making a name for herself and trying to find her place in the world. Not all relationships are destined for success, but they’re willing to help each other through every obstacle they encounter.
At a time when mental health is at the forefront of so many discussions this story was well-timed. Toni Aleo shows the type of mental health support all people need and deserve. The characters were fun and loveable and their chemistry and love for one another is palpable. An easy read with a feel-good plot.

Evan and Callie's book was so good! I loved it. Callie was so understanding to Evan and his mental health but as well as Evan to Callie and her past. It was fun seeing Aviva and Nico again also! As always I love seeing all the Alders but Shea kinda melted my heart and made me love him even more because the love he has for his kids is so overflowing no matter what they decide to do with their lives he's there for it! That being said I need Emery's and Quinn's books whether they are separate or together as a couple idc. LOL.

Received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) in exchange for this honest review.

When I say that Toni Aleo does the best 'kids of past characters'/interconnected series in sports romance, I tell no lies.

Set scene: Quieter twin Evan Adler has left his assumed lifelong career path in the NHL to focus on his mental health and meets confident yet reserved gymnast Callie Pierce walking out of Bellevue's autism/mental health center.

Little does he know she's the sister in law of her of his VERY OVERPROTECTIVE ex-teammate and she's set her sights on him.

I felt like this was such a sweet romance. Very low angst if that's what your in the mood for. Toni does a great job interweaving past stories (really recommend Wild Tendy before getting into this) to craft this narrative where these characters have to continually question themselves but their partner is always in their corner.

Evan Adler is medically retired from the NHL in order to focus on his mental health, a step he thinks everyone judges him for—but everyone from his parents (Shae and Ellie) to his twin brother (Owen) respects him for his choice. He had no idea what his future would hold but he returned home to Nashville to go to school and RA for the Bellevue Boys Hockey Team. We even get to see some of our old Bellevue favorites make an appearance as one of them returns to coach and mentor the newest group of players. He also takes up being a trainer for the girls gymnastics team. Enter Callie Pearce, who we met in the IceCats Series.

Callie is the sister to Aviva and is currently a gymnast at Bellevue. She had a crush on Evan while she was home and couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw him running at Bellevue and, later, taping up her ankles.

I loved how Toni tackled the prospect of Mental health inside the professional sports arena in an expanded form. We touched on it in Owens book—and she really got to expand on what Evan was feeling and experiencing in his own way here. And she didn’t just look at how Evan and Callie’s relationship dealt with his neurodivergence, but how his whole family dealt with it as well.

This story was a great addition to the Adler crew and I cannot wait to get more!

I have been waiting for this book for months, because Evan Adler deserved his own HEA after popping up so many times in his twin brother Owen’s book. And, man, Toni Aleo did not disappoint! Within a couple chapters I could feel tears burning.

One of the reasons I love Toni’s books is because her characters are so completely real and flawed. This isn’t just beautiful people who have a bit of trauma in their lives. Her characters are dealing with debilitating anxiety. Cancer. Body dysmorphia. Depression. ADHD. Real issues we all deal with day in and day out.

Evan Adler has let his anxiety rule his life. He is so fearful of what others will think about him that he can’t move past some pretty intense walls he’s built himself. After having a panic attack in front of his boss, he has to come clean to his family…and the girl who he didn’t even know was already connected to him in so many ways. Callie Pearce, the pseudo-daughter of Nico Merryweather and Callie’s sister Aviva. Nico still harbors some really deep distrust and anger over his failed attempt at a relationship with Evan’s sister Shelli, and has never given Evan a chance.

This book was emotional but super cute, and it was just a complete joy to read. I, of course, binged it in a day because I had to get to the end. Now I’m hoping Toni will finally give Dart a book, since she’s been teasing him for so many books now!
