Do not let the title deter you, great read

This book is such a great, fun read! Go in with an open mind and you'll come out with a better outlook on life. I love the female lead Shawn in this book, you can tell she's a strong , brave person who's fought diversity. The guys all have something about them that will have you falling for each of them.

Grab this book, you won't regret it.

I expected this book to be one of those typical romantic books where I knew exactly what was going to happen before it happened. They're that predictable. But this book surprised me. I didn't expect that twist. And if I remember correctly, that part changed everything for me. My mind was just blown. It was worth the read and I've finished this book a while back but I didn't know what to write in this review. Then, I procrastinated and now here we are like a month or two later. I remember one part of the story where I just really wanted to put the book down. The whole story, I'm not thinking much about her skin color because the book give no indication that her skin is a matter at all. Then out of the blue, people are wondering why he's with her and her skin color is brought up and I didn't really feel that part. Throughout the whole story, her being black wasn't even mentioned then all of a sudden she's being called names and crying and then the issue of her skin is a big deal. They proceed to talking about it for like probably one or two pages before moving on and I don't know. Now that I'm remembering that, in my opinion (and maybe I'm wrong) but it didn't feel sincere. It didn't feel real. I feel like that whole part should've just been thrown out at the editing process because it didn't fit with the rest of the book/chapters. It came like a tornado. No warning or anything. Besides that, the book was okay. It was good. I'll give it a 3.5 stars. Thank you for your effort and time!

Oh my

This book, oh my! At the beginning I was full of giggles but even though the fun banter there were also parts that tore deep into my feels. I'm so excited to read book 2

i dont want to exist on an astral plane where black women are fetishized and their skin is referred to as chocolate milk

this was baaaaaad. i got 60% into it and i still don't know when the plot starts. it seemed to me that it probably just never does.

in essence: 3 dudes on campus referred to as, and i quote, THE PLEASURE PONIES are responsible for healing women after break ups by massaging, offering sweet words, but (again, i quote) NEVER PENETRATING. all of this so that they can get these women to sign up for a tinder style app that the young stallions get kickbacks from.

but along comes an "exotic" mixed woman who is "so unlike any other woman ever on the planet" that they all sort of have a crush on. but obviously the hottest of the 3 wants to stop his womanizing ways and get with the aforementioned chocolate milk skinned goddess.

and that's about as far as i got before closing my kindle app and swearing off new adult for a little while. this was not the sexy reverse harem story of my dreams. this was a poor attempt at a diverse mary sue character trying not to get the tingles when a viking warrior ass blasts her chakras (there's a reiki healing moment). hell naw. no. bye.

This might come off more than as a rant than a review but oh well. Y'all this was supposed to be a Reverse Harem, but I’m still trying to figure out how?

Just because you have a hot group of guys that are friends with one girl, but only one dates her doesn’t make it Reverse Harem! I hadn't read an RH book in a while so I was excited when I came across this one, only to be really disappointed. If you are interested in reading a real RH, then try the Kit Davenport series by Tate James or Curse of the Gods series by Jane Washington and Jaymin Eve.

The story was okay but let me talk about the guys for a second. The jobs that they had were ridiculously unrealistic! These guys are in college with a business of giving women pleasure (without sex) in order to bring more people to their dating app. I’m sorry, what?

As far as the relationship goes it was good. I did enjoy Knox as a romantic interest even though I do think he had a fetish with Shawn’s skin color. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that the heroine was a woman of color, but it really seemed like the author was making Knox have a fetish for her skin color in the book. Maybe it’s just me.

I also did enjoy Leo and Finn. Those guys were hilarious and I would love to read about the shenanigans that they would get themselves into. They were the comedic relief here and I loved them.

While there were parts that I did like about this one, I still have to give it a low rating because it wasn’t a true reverse harem story. If it’s not a duck, doesn’t quack like a duck, then it isn’t a duck.

I loved everything about this book!

Each book really is a standalone. I read books 2-4 before reading this one and I wasn’t confused at all. Some things are explained in more detail and i know more of a backstory now but it’s safe to Sha each book is a standalone.

Knox and Shawn’s story is beautiful and heartbreaking. It’s a slow burn but once you get to the sex damn is it hot!!! They both went through some real life shit that is very relatable. I love that the main character is biracial with more African features. Representation matters! A wonderful book as always from RVD!

Felt rushed

This wasn't very good. It wasn't a true RH, at all and wasn't well-written. I didn't feel the characters, plot development, or relationship development. Everything was too rushed.
