I loved the way Love Redesigned is written, although I wouldn't really categorize this as a rom-com, nothing comedic as described on the blurb, but nonetheless a great story. I loved the characters and how they drew me in + there was so much suspense and anticipation for the ending. The ending was quite disappointing though. Parang pinaasa lang ako hahaha

⭐⭐⭐.5/5 for Love Redesigned

I enjoyed this book. I really felt for Alex. He lost a lot in his life and he just wanted to have a family and be loved. I liked Dani, although she was a bit selfish. One thing though, I do not consider this a romantic comedy as the title says, which isn’t a bad thing, I was just expecting more humor and funny moments but this was surprisingly serious and emotional between Alex and his family, Alex and Dani, and Dani and her twin brother.

“I want you, Dani. You. Us. All of it. I never stopped wanting you.”

Alex was so thoughtful and kind. I loved that

I couldn't put this book down because I was so immersed with the story and the feels (mainly the angst and apprehension I felt for something going wrong during the first part with Sasha). Everything that came after was great, except for the finale.

Why I wasn't too happy about the finale? The bad guys didn't really get their full comeuppance considering what they did... I mean, Sasha stole her freaking wedding dress that was meant to be for her friend?? I just can't justify nothing bad happening to her for it. I mean I get why it didn't end up happening, and I suppose it's more realistic that way, but it was like leading up to the whole idea that they would pull off this cool heist and then it just didn't happen. It just left me feeling like I wasn't given something I was promised. I would have been happier even if the ending chapter just mentioned Sasha being sued or something, but nope.

In terms of the sweet romance though, I was left fully satisfied. I became invested in each character and loved the development between Dani and her twin Isaac. Alex's development was great too. If you ignore the anti-climatic finale, the ending is just super sweet!

This one was a little underwhelming for me. There wasn’t a whole lot of chemistry between Alex and Dani which made the romance a little hard to believe.
Dani was overly disapproving of her brother. She severely judged him and I found it hard to believe they had any communication in the last 5 years if she was this clueless about Isaac and his career.
Dani being so judgmental and not a ton of chemistry in the book makes me give it a 2.5 stars.
I definitely like the Hawthorne brothers series by this author much more!

Sweet, funny, with a guaranteed HEA

Second chance isn't always my favorite trope, but I do love a good family reconciliation and a sweet as pie happily ever after! I love watching people learn to truly see someone as who they are and also watching people find their voice and stick up for themselves and this book does not disappoint. Add this one to your TBR pile today!

Home is where the heart is

Reader’s Notes:

– this is the first of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Dani and Alex’s points of view

– there is a male/male married couple

Review:

I loved Dani’s drive and passion for fashion! While a little naive when it came to her boss’s intentions at first, I could see Dani’s love of fashion glow throughout all the situations she faced. As well as her loyalty to her friends and family! Dani was conscious of what they enjoyed and what of her actions could affect them and would change her plans accordingly. It did take her a bit to get to that point with her brother, but once they reconciled he was doubly put under her wing in this way.
