Yes this was a kids chapter book so it took me only like 30 minutes to read but it was amazing! Of course I knew most of this but I still loved readinf about Walt Disney :) very good book!

I read this in preparation to teach it next quarter to a reading group. What I really enjoy about this series as a whole is that they don't skirt away from the unpleasant, but talk about it in a way that is appropriate for young readers. I adore when books treat kids with respect, and don't sugar coat life. For instance, this book certainly talked about all the big details, but also included Disney's bad temper and the race issues that came out of one of his films. I also really like when books show kids that it's ok to not be good at school, but that hard work and determination are keys to successful life. Anyways, really looking forward to sharing this one with my students!

It was an easy to read and very informative book for kids. It's great to read for any age. This book had so many facts that even I wasn't aware if before reading. I especially liked the timeline at the end that shows what else was going on in the world during Walt Disney's lifetime. I would definitely recommend for young readers who are interested in learning about specific people or who already enjoy Disney movies.

I read this with my daughter as one of her class assignments. I learned a lot of good information about Walt Disney, things I hadn't known or heard before. I rated this down a star because I felt there were big gaps in the story though.

A concise primer on the life of Walt Disney for kids. While it was interesting to learn about his upbringing as well as the creation of Mickey Mouse, animated films and Disneyland, the book abruptly ends when Walt dies and goes into barely any detail about his long legacy. I do appreciate how Stewart does not shy away from including some Walt's more unpleasant behavior, and was surprised to see Song of the South mentioned alongside well-known Disney classics of that era even though the company prefers to pretend that the controversial film does not exist.

I just love Walt Disney!

This series always has good short reads.
