Not related to the quality of the book but I have to say I'm confused why Sam is called a CEO. It might be a language barrier thing but he's juste helping to fix and/or sell those companies he doesn't own them in any way. Maybe there's not an actual word for this kind of job idk.

Anyway the plot was interesting, Sam and Michael had good chemistry but the internal thoughts/monologues were sooooo repetitive mostly with Sam:
- They're horny for each other
- Hard to be gay in a corporate job and it could ruin his carrer if people found out
- He's ashamed of being in the closet

One or twice fine but here I'm pretty sur we could easily cut a few pages. A few pages where they could have had a few more scenes together.

Still an enjoyable read overall but some thing lacked a little depth like how
Sam's  trauma was brought up.
There's this big build up where we think it's about someone else but once we found out we just move on. And while I don't think it's impossible for someone to be into this kind of kinks after what happened I don't think it was done in the best way. Him having a bad experience in the past and finally being able to try it properly would make more sense if there's so little backstory and consequences to what happened.

A m/M take on the office romance trope complete with power dynamic imbalance in the relationship and the reversal of that in the bedroom. I liked it a lot - although I was dubious about how the workplace aspect of the romance was going to be resolved - and wanted a bit more on that aspect at the end. But I liked it enough that I borrowed the next story in the series from the library straight away!

This book was good.  I probably would have rated it a bit higher, except that there were a few instances of using somewhat iffy indigenous terms that rubbed me the wrong way (several times saying they were ‘part of the tribe’ or ‘using the language of the tribe’, and one other near the beginning that I don’t recall the specifics of right now).  I know that this book came out in 2015 and that folks were perhaps not cognizant of using indigenous terms like this, but it’s still not an excuse.  To me it just feels lazy, like the author couldn’t be bothered to come up with their own terms.

Overall I found the story enjoyable, it kept my interest, but it wasn’t really anything too special.  Random vacation hookup, but it turns out one of them is the other’s brand new boss, will they, won’t they, this isn’t appropriate, but they can’t help themselves.  Not overly original, but still enjoyable.  Will likely continue with the rest of the series.

This was such a good book! I loved Sam and Michael, and their struggles throughout the story were very real.

Steam: 4/5 (some very steamy open door scenes)

I don't read a lot of business-romance or rich-people-romance, because the whole capitalistic exploitative environment mostly makes me angry and resentful. So I've hesitated to pick up these books and check them out, even if I've enjoyed other books by this author. Some of them are faves, actually. Now, I finally got too curious and picked up the first books, and it was definitely worth it. The business world was just as annoying as expected, but the writing and the characters helped a lot, so it didn't bug me too much. Also, I liked how it was all described very realistically (as far as I know, I'm more used to working in health care, and having 37 hour work weeks with flexible hours and 5 weeks paid leave a year, paid sick leave when needed, and all that, hah). Anyway, I liked the characters and their love story, and it was hot and sweet. The kink was well negotiated and the hot times were well written and steamy. DS kink can be a hit or miss with me, but this was hot. All in all, I'm very glad I overcame my hesitance and read this.
