This was such a sweet romance. There was conflict, but without any miscommunication or a third act breakup, which was so refreshing šŸ˜… I only wish it had been a bit longer

I really liked this! It kind of reminded me of The Office when Robert California was the manager- but if they were all millionaires. I guess the author’s writing style and humor is on the dry side and not for everyone, but it suites me!

This was so fun! I really enjoy Katherine Center’s writing style, she’s so funny I was literally laughing out loud reading this. I honestly wish it had been just a smidge longer. I would’ve liked to see Hannah and Jack’s relationship evolve over a slightly longer period of time, but other than that I absolutely loved this book.

I really enjoy Fortune’s writing- it’s so descriptive and reminiscent of some of my favorite romance authors, but I always find that I have a hard time connecting to her characters. The reasons that the couple had for not being together felt like such non-issues to me that I was super impatient for the moment when they would finally be together.

This book deserves all of the rave reviews I’ve seen for it. It was incredibly well written, and highly addictive- I literally couldn’t put it down. I’m usually wary of stories where mothers are defending their sons, but I thought this was very well done. The mom’s need to protect her child was well balanced with her knowledge of how abusers can often be the people who’d least expect. I really appreciated all of the mom’s internal struggle, and found that I was right there with her, going back and forth in my head.

Around the 40% mark I did correctly predict the rest of the plot- but I don’t hold that against the book, I actually think it’s a sign of good writing. There should be clues to ā€œtwists,ā€ I don’t really care for when things come out of left field in books.

I was really excited by the premise of this book, and it definitely delivered on the early 2000s romcom vibes. However, there were some parts that I think could have been better executed.

My biggest issues with this book was the timeline. I feel like everything happened unrealistically fast, especially all of the back and forth that happened at the end. I also feel like the ending was a little abrupt, and the story would have benefited from an epilogue. Overall, I did think the book was good, and it’s worth the read if you need something quick and lighthearted, but it could have been better.

I’m really not surprised that I enjoyed this book as I’ve liked the entire series. I’ll be first to admit that sometimes the plot gets a lot convoluted, but these books are so addictive šŸ˜… The chapters are short, the steaks are high, and you could cut the romantic tension with a knife. Plus I love puzzles and games. It was a lot of fun to revisit these characters, and meet some new ones. I might have to read the entire series before the next book comes out- because seriously, there are so many twists and turns and I forget how all of the characters are connected to each other- but I’ll be looking forward to it!

I’ve seen some pretty mixed reviews for this one, but I really enjoyed it! I’m don’t tend to be a fan of songwriting or musicians in books, but I am always here for a marriage of convenience. I’m not sure if maybe I’m just getting desensitized to the gore, but this one didn’t make me queasy like B&B šŸ˜… which was a plus.

As far as the actual storytelling, I did think that the plot line with Phantom was oddly paced and felt unfinished by the end of the book- which maybe was intentional as I believe there’s supposed to be another book. The epilogue also felt out of place and not really like an epilogue.

But overall, I had a lot of fun reading this!

I think I liked this sequel even more than the first book! I remember feeling like the first book had some pacing issues, but this one felt much more fast-paced and filled with the same great banter and wild antics that made the first book so enjoyable to me. Very rarely do I actually laugh out loud while reading, but there were several moments in this book that had me chuckling. I really loved seeing Evie’s character grow and become more confident, while simultaneously seeing The Villain’s character have moral dilemma after moral dilemma. I also liked getting some more backstory on the rest of the ensamble. If you were a fan of Assistant to the Villain I think you’ll be very happy with this follow up.

I originally questioned if The Last Mrs. Parrish really needed a follow up, and after finishing this book I still feel that way. Even though I enjoyed reading this, and revisiting some of these characters, I really doubt the entire premise of the book. I find it very hard to believe that Daphne would so willingly let Jackson back into their lives after everything she did to leave him. I recognize the dilemma she felt she was in with her older daughter, but a few serious talks with her could have avoided this whole situation???

That aside I did like the inclusion of Daisy Ann’s character (from The First Shot) and seeing that whole plot line wrapped up.
