An informative but terribly sad story of a family spanning 3 generations who lived through the Civil Sri Lanka War. A modern war that went on for 26 years.
It's very well written. It highlights the importance of family, faith and the sometimes difficult decision/ s one needs to make to ensure their family survive.

I absolutely love that I was familiar with all the places described, (bar the fictional made up places) as it's the same trip I did with my family about 6 years ago. The book, despite being a thriller, did bring back fond memories of our trip. The fun we had and the beauty we explored. Loved every minute of our 7 week adventure.
As for this suspenseful thriller centred around two main characters, I really enjoyed it. Katy, is searching for her sister Phoebe, who went missing whilst travelling the Coast of WA and Beth is caught up in a dangerous relationship with her partner.
Whilst Katy is on the road travelling the same route that Phoebe had, an unusual freaky event causes Katy and Beth to meet. Both hold secrets, but in time they will both come to need and rely on each other more than they ever imagined.
Will Katy find out what happened to Phoebe, and will Beth finally be able to escape her situation?
This was a fun read. The middle was a bit of a slow burn but I was invested enough with the story to keep going.
If you love vanlife, travel and suspense, this one is for you.

Aldo is a mathematical genius obsessed with time travel and Regan is a bipolar artist.
One day, Aldo and Regan meet in an art gallery. Aldo strangely requests 6 conversations with Regan, which she obliges. What transpires is the most unorthodox but beautiful relationship.
The world may not understand them, but they do.
It's beautiful.
It's tender.
It's real.
I love Aldo and Regan together. It works. 😉 💘

This is a cleverly imaginative sci-fi novel with a murder mystery that must be solved if what remains of the human race is to survive.
Humanity is at question as we read on about one of the scientist's utopian vision and their bold attempt to eradicate all violence and selfishness in humans. A hopeful and grand idea of a new world where everyone gets along with no hate or greed. Total harmony, sounds perfect right? But at what cost to achieve this?
Although this was mostly a entertaining read, it does get you thinking and questioning society and how we live today.
How will we face when we are 'at the end of the world'?
I enjoyed this novel and will not hesitate to read other books from this author.

A book with relatable middle age characters going through changes in life and searching for meaning from their past and new formed relationships and friendships.
It touches on some difficult topics but it's not too heavy. I found it to be quite meaningful and lovely in a sad sort of way.

It's the 1940's, Victoria Nash is a young girl growing up and finding her way in a home of men when she meets the love of her life.
Unfortunately, their ill-fated love leads to tragic events and decisions. I was gutted and so sad. However, Shelley's writing is so eloquent and her descriptions of both the land and characters are so vivid and heartfelt that despite all the ugliness and sorrow occurring, the beauty, love and hope did shine through.
A powerful, beautiful novel of an amazing brave, strong young woman. I highly recommend this one.
