Can’t come to the phone right now, too busy SOBBING MY A*S OFF
I loved this book so much that I finished it in a day...
One thing that I adored about this book is that the characters are flawed, but they’re written in such a way that you can’t help but root for them. I just think that authors who can accurately depict characters like that are godly.

Dhmu I’m crying
The ending surprised me but I'm kinda glad it was written that way because it’s more realistic than sunshine and rainbows forever.

This book is clickbait in book form.
I picked up this book because the idea of an American monarchy sounded super cool, and I wanted to know how the history of the U.S. Would be like if it had a royal family. But guess what! This book is 5% world-building and 95% bad tropes and unlikeable characters. And the ending is so obviously written so that the author can add more books to the series.
I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 because of the second sister and the bodyguard (aka the only characters I could stand)

Ngl I kinda hated Arthur, I understand that he’s like insecure from being bullied and all that but sometimes he just seemed stupid. Overall not bad, trinket saved the book.

MADELINE MILLER DOESN’T MISS
Am I gonna say this is my favorite book...yes, yes I am
I have nothing to say except this book had me in a chokehold and I appreciated every second of it. Madeline Miller breaks me like a twig every single time and I love it.

I felt like this book was just a build-up to the ending, meaning that nothing really exciting happened for the majority of the book, but I liked the ending so it’s not that bad.
