Better the second time! I picked up on way more in the book and definitely appreciated it more, even though I was only reading it for the trivia event at our library.
This book was written like a badly-plotted kids' TV movie. Seriously.
The only part that made up for it was all the puns and coincidences the author included, but for the age group the book was intended for, I don't know that readers would necessarily pick up on that.
Interesting concept, just didn't play out well, unfortunately.
Although the cover art is really, really cool.

Even better as a reread, I think. There was so much to remember, all the names and places came rushing back, and I forgot how great it is to watch Eragon grow through the story. Plus I happen to believe it's pretty well-written, considering the author was a teenager at the time.
Highly interesting and to anyone who wants to get into the genre starting at the roots, I suggest you read this.
It's funny, it's crazy, it's entertaining... and it will make Black Sabbath have a whole new meaning for you.

I forgot how Paolini ends every book with a stereotypical battle scene. It's still pretty awesome, of course. And the addition of new characters in this book makes it better: Oromis, Elva, Angela, Nasuada... there are some strong female leaders in this book to help Eragon, which I appreciate. Plus seeing where Roran ended up is oddly gratifying. Great reread.
I refused to get out of bed until I finished it! And even though they keep you really confused up until the last 30 pages, Christie still defies any theory you might have had on solving the murder by the end.
I also never realized what a wry sense of humor she gives her characters. It's almost situational humor, but it's in the dialogue, and you have to be careful not to miss it. I think I've missed it in most of her works before.
A good read. I'm not sure if it's the best Agatha Christie I've read, but I enjoyed it.

I hadn't read anything Bradbury except Fahrenheit 451, so it was great getting a feel for his short stories with... 44 of them. I have to say, the ones that are just about normal life and not based in space definitely entranced me more. White Ice Cream Suit was one to look out for. As is The Powerhouse, although that might be more scifi.
