This book just blew me away! I did not like the first one that much, it had a good story line and nice characters. BUT the second book was sooo good! I thought about it day and night. I even had dreams with Cas as we're slaying through Hell to save Anna. I absolutely loved it.

Gillian Flynn has so much talent. I loved Gone Girl, even though the whole story was a little too sick for me, and Dark Places was just as catchy, unputdownable, misterious, and sick. I loved it!

What can I even say? Amazing plot, loads of plot twists, extraordinary character development. I loved every page of it. Now I'm just really intrested how this is going to work out in the next book.

I can't believe I've read it. I'm feeling a little empty because I got really close to some of the characters and I just want to read more. I could never get bored of the world of ancient gods and their half blood kids. I loved how every character developed fully, none of them were left behind. Still, I think that in this book, Percy and Annabeth were put aside for a while and that was a little dissapointing. But I loved everything about this book, and about this series and I can't wait to read more of Rick Riordan's books. He has this way of pulling you in into his world, playing with your emotions so in one minute you hate him and in the next you love him. After all, this is what brought him such a success and I wouldn't change anything about him or his books.

Let's just start with the fact that I absolutely love Gillian Flynn. Her books, characters, the crazy plots are just so captivating. I was sure I'm going to be obsessed with this book. But while I was reading I thought to myself "Did Gillian REALLY write this or is this a joke?"

I would like to give 2 stars because the main idea was extraordinary and the characters, as usual, were really complex and intriguing in some kinds of sick ways. But:

- The plot was so slow paced I wanted to give up on reading the book. And I rarely do that. The things that were not that important, like the days nothing interesting happens, were extremely detailed, and when we got the plot twists it was.. expectable and short. I would've never thought I would say this to a Flynn book, but the plot twist was not as mind blowing as in the other books. And the fact that it wasn't detailed, made me really frustrated.

-There were too many strings unattached. I love a good open-ended story where I can use my imagination and just "play" around with the character's future. But this story SCREAMED for clarifing. The relationships that were built throughout the book got COMPLETELY lost after the plot twist. You got maybe one sentence about one of the male characters. ONE single sentence.

-The whole book felt like a sketch, it gave me a feeling of an unfinished book. I was expecting someone to tell me that this is just the general idea and not the whole book. Alas, this did not happen.

I'm so dissapointed and angry with how this turned out because this could've been a great story if the plot would be modified. Still, this doesn't stop me from loving Gillian Flynn's work and writing style.

Let me give you an advice: if you want to read this book start it early in the morning and take a day off because you will be busy all day. Reading.

I started this book at 1 a.m. and it was the worst and the best decision I've ever made. The book is unputdownable to the point I didn't sleep until 6 a.m. and woke up after 4 hours of sleep to finish it. It was so worth it.

This book is everything. It's inspiring, educational, packed with emotions and rollercoasters. I loved every minute of it, although I cried 70% throughout the reading.

What a brutally realistic world. I could connect with the characters so easily, I felt empathy even for the characters that maybe didn't deserve it. Witnessing this situation from Lily's point of view was so shocking for me. I never have judged people who lived in an abusive relationship but I was always asking myself: "Why don't they just quit?". This book gave me answers and proved me nothing is just black and white. I fell in love with all of the characters from the book, even Lucy who, I felt, was a little bit unnecessary. The plot was amazing too and the whole book is brilliant. It was definitely worth the wait.

Thank you Colleen for this amazing book, for giving strength and inspiring your readers through your talent in writing. Thank you for making me understand this sad and cruel reality some people live in. You are amazing!

What a messed up, sick, strange and creepy book... I LOVED IT.

Oh, man. What a book. I already knew that swedish writers are like no other. The plots, the characters, the narration are unbelievably unique. Of course if you're not into books that will blow your mind off for sure than I suppose swedish books are not for you.

But this book specifically was incredible. I would've never thought I will be loving a book about vampire-like creatures and a sick reality about monsters. The characters were amazing and thanks to the amazing narration I could empathize even with a squirrel.

This book was a journey to a twisted reality where fairytales and the human world combine in awful but magical ways. It was an experience I will never forget.

This book is not a cliché as you would expect even though it seems like it. Sure there are some situations that are a little bit too perfect but other than that it's a lovely short read, with lovely and very hilarious characters and a great story about mistakes and forgiving. I loved it.

I accidentally learned about this book when I got a longer quotation from it at my exam for entering University. I promised back then that if I get in, I would read it. And I did get in so here I am after reading one of the best modern fairytales of ALL TIMES.

Oh man, I love this book sooo much. The plot was so sad and so real. The author really grasped the idea of making a fairytale a real life story. The accident, the scars, the mental issues, the bullying, the bad sides of fame... it was all there in this emotional rollercoaster of a book.
I loved the plot, it wasn't too cheesy and it wasn't so close to Cinderella's tale as I thought it would be. In fact, I really had to think about the similarities between the too.

Our heroine is just one of the best characters I have ever read about. The problems she's had in her life were so painful and I had so much empathy for her that when she was hurting, I was hurting too... very deeply. I loved how she put up with bullying, and I definitely fell for her slowly growing support team. I loved all the other characters, especially Vivian, Rob and our Prince Charming, Brian. He was everything a girl could wish for (maybe even too much?) but the author proved to us that the looks really don't matter if you shine from within.

So, all I have to say is: Read this book. Enjoy it. And never stop believing in fairytales. :)
