Mariana Zapata books have me in a chokehold. The slow burn of her books wrecks me every time. I love Dallas and his bald men love professions and Diana and the boys relationship

• third act breakup
• S.T.E.M. i.e. both are physicists
• rivals to lovers
• fake dating but not in the way you’d think
Okay my noggin already froths at the mouth for a lorge blonde tree trunk of a man and when you throw in the pretty eyes and quirky iykyk tattoos I absolutely loose my collective shït but I could not stop seeing the parallels of Adam and I don’t think I’ve read the live hypothesis in at least a year. Like their similarities and caveman tendencies are a bit too close and kind of congealed the two stories together. I did subconsciously switch jacks name to Levi midway through the book but that’s just my dory brain.
Jacks dialogue was a lot more quotable and had more aww moments than the rest of the hazelwood men which I did appreciate.
The twilight bits did bump the book up for me. The mini olive and adam cameo was fun and there’s a brief mention of bee.

• friends-> nonfriends-> coworkers->lovers
•small town romance
• single dad
This was my least favorite of her books I’ve read so far. It just felt like there wasn’t much chemistry and as soon as the mmc sees her doing a crazy stunt he has an epiphany and needs to be with the fmc. I was starting to really like this suspense aspect her books, but this one it just felt underdeveloped I wasn’t itching to figure out who did it I was more sidetracked by the crappiness of the mom towards the fmc, the ex’s drama, her friends weirdness to the stalker scenario, the rich guy who just randomly showed up, and the several other tangents that took away from the mystery and romance aspects of the book.

• she’s the nanny and he’s her boss
• third act breakup
• she was a cam girl
I was excited for the premise of this book but it gave nothing. The main issue being her big secret and then when the reveal happens it’s just glazed over and NEVER MENTIONED again and this was the fmc’s biggest issue throughout the book (withholding this big secret), well this and the reason he ghosted her but Christ she knew early on what happened a year ago and didn’t piece together the info.

5 years ago Hallie went missing while leaving a party, after thirty- three days of being held captive she escaped and was found by Lawson. The moment that would live with them forever. The book jumps to present time when Lawson needs help with his three boys and Hallie seeing the blue eyes that saved her while interviewing to be the nanny for his kids.
The relationship between Luke and Hallie had me teary eyed more than once. Charlie is still the cutest kid. Drew’s bruhhs were funny
Lawson and Hallie’s story was so good so far my favorite stories of hers. The way she took a common trope and intertwined it to include a pivotal connection between the two was everything. They healed each other while the slow burn burned.
The way the family and DIL all stood up for Hallie during her panic attacks and could pick up on the signs made me want to weep with how caring they all where

This is the first book of Catherine cowles that I’ve read since I’m still hyper fixating on the single parent trope and I’m not going to lie the rush of names and relationships to each other had me questioning my life choices but holy hell this book was fantastic. It was suspenseful throughout, sweet because Cady girl was the embodiment of sunshine, and the romance between two people who struggled with their own trauma letting their walls down and embracing a love that’s worth protecting to hell and back was so good.
There was so many twists and turns into trying to pinpoint who did it but I was not expecting that ending. I went to read other reviews after I put the book down and didn’t even realize there was an indicator in the beginning of the book that related to the twist.
Cady and Charlie stole my ice cold heart. Omg they’re adorable.

* One night stand
* accidental pregnancy
* No third act breakup
* Disability representation
The two main characters compliment each other so well, it was so easy to root for them. They both wanted to be parents and actually communicated with one another through the tough bits. Everything was so open between them it was refreshing. There were bits where I skimmed because it dove into Wins thoughts and reasonings and felt a bit winded but it really did give perspective into how her past relationships have formed this wall around her heart and really emphasized the way Bo tended to the old wounds and let her thrive as she finds comfort in the future and what it holds

After grieving the loss of his wife for the past two years Nathan’s family intervenes on his downward spiral and he realizes his daughter lost her mom and was left with a shell of a man she hardly knew as her dad.
Jenna offers to help babysit for Nathan during the summer after noticing him drowning while trying to juggle work and marley.
The kiddies are adorable and actually seem to be a believable age instead of the normal genius 1.5 yr olds who hold insightful conversations with everyone.
