The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi

It feels weird giving a book about an on going genocide a star rating so I’m skipping that. But overall this was so educational, sad, upsetting, and eye opening. I listened to the audiobook, and can recommend!

Before last October I had the privilege of never really having to think much about Palestine and Israel and what has been going on there for over a century. Which also means that I had no clue what it was all about and where it started. I am from the EU, so the information I’ve gotten my whole life is more Israel centered. This book is a great overview of the history of Palestine and all the events that lead us to where we are today.

It is scary how powerful countries can erase and replace history. We have seen it before and we are seeing it happen again right in front of our eyes.

Wow! This series has completely blown me away so far. I am enjoying the story so much and I love love love our characters.

There were twists and surprises in this book that I was not expecting from the series and the plot thickened for the future books…

I really enjoy how this whole series is paced. Some call it slow in the beginning, but it honestly is perfect. The set up for all these battles and fights is great.

In Heir of Fire we were introduced to a bunch of new characters, who back then I didn’t care about. Well, after this book I am super invested in every single character’s storyline.

Overall, 4.5 stars. A very very good book. Next up: the tandem read 👀

Another Throne of Glass book finished, and I am still interested in reading more!

Now, this is a prequel to the series and we get to see how our girl Celeana grows into the badass angry woman we meet on page 1 of Throne of Glass.

It was an enjoyable read, but i have to be honest here and say, that I wasn’t super into the prequel. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the story and the book, but I just wanted to see where the main story of the series evolves. That made it hard to dive into the past.

With that being said, I am glad I didn’t read this book first. But I also am not happy that I read it after Heir of Fire. I think the best reading order is the publication order and I wish I would have read the Assassin’s Blade third, right after Crown of Midnight.

Overall, I loved seeing a bit into the past of our girl, and finding out who betrayed her… but I mean I could’ve guessed that 🥲

Onto the next one!

This book was kinda hard to get into at first. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series and I understand why people say this is where the story really begins or takes a turn.

We are in a completely different place from last book. We’re all separated. Truly feels like the beginning of a new series with the way our main character ends up in a different island/continent, we go through the training arc again, we’re introduced to new characters, etc.
I just felt a bit disconnected at first and it was hard to catch on.

Now, with that being said, around the 60% mark was where I truly felt like I was interested in everyone’s story and the book became addictive.

Overall, I would still give this book 4 stars because it is enjoyable and the characters are (mostly) likable.

I cannot wait to see where the story takes us next.

I am LOVING this series!! Yes, I could foresee some of the big twists of the book, but it did not take away from the overall reading experience.

I love a badass female main character. And our girl is soooo fierce, omg! 🤩

A very solid 4 stars for this book, and I cannot wait to start the next one 🙈

Okay, a lot of people online said this book is sooo slow and only world-building and boring. Absolutely not!! This was great!
From the first sentence of the book I was interested in the story and where it would go. Yes, there wasn’t much war action or fighting, but there was a lot of mystery and unknown. And the final fight of the book is so worth it in my opinion. 🗡️🙈
This was such a fun read for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it and am already itching to get my hands on the next one. 🤩

This book was fineeee, just fine. Nothing special, just your regular Agatha Christie book with many twists. There’s really nothing more to say, haha, it was short and interesting enough, but nothing amazing in my option. 😅

I think I might be burnt out from all these romantic fantasy books, because they’re all starting to sound the same and I’m bored 🥲😅 this took me so long to finish…

I think the story is there, just hidden behind some not so good writing at times and too much focus on the attraction between the main characters. Bring back yearning, haha!

Loved the dragons and the powers, but like I said earlier, I think I’m tired of these similar plots and tropes. Time to find a palette cleanser book so hopefully I can enjoy the next book in this series properly.

This book took me longer to get through than I thought it would. A lot of war happening, and I think that made it a bit slow at times.

Still enjoying the characters and the stories they live. We got a new POV in this book, which made it a bit more interesting.

The ending picked up a lot tho, and now I need to get my hands on the last book of the series.

PS! I LOVE the covers of this series 😍

I enjoyed this book a lot. I would suggest checking the trigger warnings before stepping into it, because there are mentions of heavy topics and traumas.
A very solid four-star read and I can’t wait to read the next book.
This author has not disappointed me so far. Every book I’ve read from her has been four stars or above.
