Tokyo Revengers (Omnibus) Vol. 7-8 by Ken Wakui

Bloody Halloween 🥺🥺🥺 Baji's death is so sad. Tearing up over a delinquent biker gang member. Draken living in a brothel... okay!

I find it so hard to pinpoint what I find so magical about this scifi crime series. The story and art aren't particularly amazing, but I sit down and somehow read 300 pages in one go, captivated the entire time by these time travelling delinquents and their little gangs. The stakes seem so high and then one of them will be 15 years old.

Stinky Jaws. God, I thought this is just was just going to be about fish; but it kept getting more and more horrifying. The floating plastic bag gave me chills. I'd be so annoyed and freaked out.

POOR REMINA. 😭 Some truly inspired horror scenes here. Jumping around the world as it spins and 1000 guys fly after you was just funny. Realizing he is quite silly which is not the public understanding at all.

Shout out to Shonen Jump for throwing the entire vault onto its app. The dying dog and boy chapter!!!! Omg it won my heart over to the series. The Tanuki chapter where it goes and comforts and old grumpy man?????!!?? Oh my god!!! 😭❤️ This series has such a wholesome core. Endearing doesn't even begin to summarize it.

AHHHHHHH!!! This book was so much scarier and creative than I anticipated - it truly went in directions that I have never seen before in horror. W O W. The stories felt more grounded and yet more surreal than I expected. God, I had to laugh at the resilience though - the main cast faced the scariest once-in-a-lifetime horrors ever and then wake up the next day and just hang out with their families until the next horror.
The mosquito babies had the be the scariest part for me, not only because I have a baby but because it seemed to have nothing to do with spirals, it was just messed up.

Oh my god I love Chopper so much. ❤️😭 This volume was a delight. I love goodbyes in One Piece and their tearful glory.

Gory! When I tried to read this in 2022 I was way too vulnerable, the description of the school too much, I had to put it down. But I sailed through it this September. God. (Ultimately a little nihilistic for my tastes! But the writing is so evocative.)

The writing is fantastic - I am always skeptical of “every chapter a new perspective” books, but this one NAILS it.
Dolores. 🥺🥺🥺 What an amazing portrayal of a Peurto Rican mom just trying to hold it together in the city. I am so happy I read this book, the ending left me with tears in my eyes. Lovingly written, funny and sad and just tender. This is a novel. The final scenes had me on the edge of my seat. The club! The race! The final chapter from Ruthy’s POV!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
