I'm sorry, introducing Gran Torino when he has slipped in ketchup covered sausage links is really funny. Hero killer is such a great villain for this series. Especially compared to the weird brain dudes.

OHHHHH MY GOODNESS THE ENDING. A popular fantasy joy! LOL. This scratched an itch left by things like the Hunger Games. Fun, high conflict fantasy with dragons and powers. I am on the hype train. Violet is chronically ill, but not in a way that is inspiration porn-y. It is so funny that the main character constantly affirms how sex positive she is versus how little sex is within the first 350 pages. The pacing is great! AND THE SEX SCENE WHEN IT ARRIVES IS WILD LOL. THE LIGHTNING, LOL.

Loved the tournament ARC. Loved the character development. Deeply good. Ending with swimsuits was WEIRD. Also the character profiles kind of stink compared to One Piece SBS Corners.

God, I like it when CanLit is good. I have wanted this sequel for years! Tay and I JUST attended a Kingston Writers Fest with the author which made me appreciate this book in a hundred ways. The bear! JC breaking his leg! The militia racists getting betrayed! The ending. 😭😮😮😲
Writing the sequel from the daughter's perspective was a great move. Surprised by how much of a slow burn it is... the group doesn't meet another human for 150 pages, but then... the intensity of the meetings when they do happen... I get it. Kudos. The second half is a ride.

Ah! Another episode of Chicken Noodle Soup for the Time Travelling Soul. I loved the new setting in Hakodate; the impulsive mother, the new staff, and seven years have passed since the last book??? Kazu's kid is already pouring the coffee!
The first two stories which involved people desperately convincing each other not to kill themselves had my heart in pieces.
But the second two stories... I got tired of being told the same message of owing it to the dead to be happy every day.

Savoured the slice-of-life tone; there is something really endearing about the delinquent turned charity worker. 🥺❤️ AND... HE'S ALIVE!

The tournament is just fun. The battle royale game of horse is fun. The ice power is just... so much...

Sometimes you read something and you can just FEEL that it is in a league of its own, above everything in its genre. This beautifully illustrated fantasy series has serious thoughts about nostalgia, time, magic, and death. It just hides them all in its slice of life series following a bored elf. Brilliant. Wild twist at the end about Frieren and demons.

A lot of fun; the olympic games works well for the start of this series, especially after such a dark second volume. Downed this in an afternoon, just nice.

This new plant horror manga had a fantastic first chapter that drew me into its chaotic embrace. And honestly, with the exception of the fact the professional leader is a child, it is pretty fantastic. The real definition of gnarly.
