Have you ever had one of those rainy days where you rush to make your coffee, then settle by the window with your warm cup and a good book? That’s exactly how reading this felt.

25 year old Takako’s life takes a turn after she quits her chaotic job upon discovering her boyfriend’s engagement to a coworker. Her uncle Satoru offers her to stay at his secondhand bookstore. With nowhere else to turn, she reluctantly accepts her uncle's offer to stay and help out at his bookshop, feeling it's her only option. Just like most of us, she uses sleeping as her coping mechanism, her uncle, Saturo encourages her to get out, meet people, and dive into some good books.

I connected with Takako on such a huge level, and with the initial chapters, you'll understand if you like her or not and if you do, this is going to feel like a hug.

The character growth? Fascinating. The whole experience? Comforting, cozy vibes all the way. Picture a girl falling in love with books—it’s nostalgic and heartfelt. At times it did get hard for me to read but that's because I was forced to face the problem I was avoiding, iykyk.

I'm officially in love with Japanese books or let's say books with Japanese street settings, and now I’m craving more!

Reading Inheritance was such a lovely and enjoyable experience. Personally, it was an emotional journey that beautifully incorporated friendship, love, and unexpected twists. A series of intriguing episodes will keep you hooked.
Ash, a South African who is on his first trip to India, is the protagonist of the first chapter. You'll follow him on his adventure, where he met many people and made wonderful friends that changed his life forever.

You'll laugh like the friends he made, while you'll worry about others, like if he'll successfully reach his goals of visiting India and whether he can support his mother financially. You'll relate to some of the characters, and some readers may have a nostalgic journey. A series of intriguing episodes will keep you hooked. Ash's trip was undeniably thrilling. Characters that are engaging and complete were developed by the author. I enjoyed the real conversations between the friends; you'll almost feel like you're physically present there living in the moment because of the author's clear descriptive writing. Everyone's portrayal, from Ash's to those of his pals, is wonderfully well-written. I liked how he also brought in the idea of love.

Inheritance, a 217-page quick read with an engaging plot, powerful narrative, and excellent vocabulary will capture your heart. Trust me you will finish it in one sitting.

Great for a beginner trying to get into reading... I don't know how to put it into words.. this was an experience I'll never forget. Being my first fiction this is close to my heart doesn't matter what the critics say.

It is an easy and quick read and will keep you engaged. BUT CAN BE TRIGGERING... if you've been in an abusive relationship/, I do not recommend reading this.

I am no writer or a seriously obsessive reader and this was my first fictional novel (romance though not really romance) but I predicted almost every second twist while reading it, BUT my interest was still peaked. A girl with, traumatic childhood, moves to a new city, starts her own business, meets a guy, falls in love, the past shows up, past versus present...I mean it's basic alright.
So the story is engaging, and you might get lost in it. It honestly depends on age groups as well. If you're above 20, you might find too many issues triggering you... below 20, we are still learning about life...
Lily and Ryle both are red flags...because this book is from Lily's pov, she gets the easy pass but had a lot of issues.

Book trigger warnings: Domestic abuse, Death of a family member, sexual assault, attempted rape, PTSD

spoilers!!!--------

Ryle showed red flags as soon as he entered the story but along with Lily, I gotta admit I fell in love with him ( yes I got a thing for toxic men and yes I'm working on it ) and I realized I was forgiving him just like Lily. The first time, the second time, and again. I was fighting against my morals but the love blinded me and I realized a lot about my issues and thanks for that, the reality check.
The problem was communication. Lily, you shouldn't be with someone if you've not over someone! That's the rule. They could've communicated beforehand about Atlas and the journals. I think Ryle wasn't such an ass that he wouldn't understand the young love between Lily and Atlas. Being a possessive guy, he was expected to get angry.

BUT AGAIN, Lily tells him about Atlas THE FIRST NIGHT they met, she gets slapped because she laughed which could easily be anybody's response to such a sweet light moment, Atlas was a beautiful piece from her traumatic childhood, she stood up for Ryle in front of Alyssa and Atlas and she did things to try and save the relationship.. he read the journal that was written but the young Lily who was at that time in love w the guy the journal was supposed to be so intense... "he's everywhere"...even then she didn't deserve to get assaulted like that, nobody does.
Honestly, I understood Ryle's anger issues at first. He did a traumatic childhood but Baby you don't assault someone???? That's just fucked up and there's no moving on from that. The bite on the collarbone tattoo still gives me chills and boy was I scared. I cried reading that part because he got so scary, and I'm a toughie, I don't cry so damn easily!!
Atlas was a sweetheart from beginning to end... I enjoyed every second of him BUT HE WAS 18 AND SHR WAS 16, how can you do that? CoHo? Not to ruin the entire book for myself, I tried hard to ignore that, pretending she was 17 so I can finish the book...
Atlas and Lily's love felt pure, just like your first love is expected, beautiful, and painful...but I was so deep into Lily and Ryle's story that when it went south, so did my heart in my ribcage and I just couldn't process whatever the fuckery was happening.
The best in the story is Lily and Alyssa's friendship and oh Marshall, the real king.

We saw Ryle suffer. He wasn't doing any better than Lily though that's his fault, his suffering broke my heart too. Because only if they acted maturely and tried working on their issues, they both would've ended as a happy family.
Lily was brave to end the cycle. It was a shocker although not so much because the story is so predictable. The ending could've been a lil gentler on Ryle. And That is why I don't feel like reading the second book at all.
To sum up, all the characters can use therapy.

It's a 4 ⭐ because I connected with it and I know how problematic that is but it contained real-life problems. As my first fiction, my experience was good. I laughed, cried, questioned myself, fell in love, and regretted it, but overall, learned a few things about myself. Brave and bold, realistic and beautiful.

I've seen people get really mad over Lily and Ryle and Lily's mom over the abuse thing but when you've been through or seen something like that in real life, you understand that it's exactly how reality is. Easier said than done, leaving a loved one is not a joke doesn't matter how they treat you. It also depends a lot on the person and their past experiences.

Its funny how easily I got influenced. I felt like EVERYONE has this and I GOT TO HAVE THIS in order to start a poetry collection but no I wouldn't really consider it poetry.
Its aesthetic and very 'instagrammable' if you would but its not poetry as to what it's been marketed as.

Being brutally honest, if you want something real, touching, deep poetry, stay away from this one, that's all I need to say.

I had to pick this up after loving the Cat and Mouse Duet by H.D. Carlton and OhMyGod I think this might be better than that. THE BOAT SCENE! It was scary! (PLEASE READ TRIGGER WARNINGS) It was creepy, intense, romantic, spicy, and emotional and I loved it. I liked the plot a lot.

If you're the one who enjoy a long list of trigger warnings...this one might be for you.

Being honest I didn't like Sin for the 70% of the book but oh the 30% made me shed actual real human tears. I cried more than once and I don't cry that easy.

I was not very fond of Sin at the beginning but as the story drew on I was invested and I didn't realise in my mind how I went from "lol he's okay" to "he's such a pure heart".

Elli was supposed to be his. From the beginning. He was to claim her.

My favorite part was when Elli offers her brand for Sin...iykyk. AND with Easton...baby didn't even think it through and instantly sacrificed himself for what he wanted and that was...touching.

I liked Elli and Sin as the characters but together as a couple, maybe not so much? Maybe I'll re-read and form a better opinion.

The smut was spot on but the real deal was the plot twists. This had the best plot twists from the 3 books and it was also the most emotional from my pov.

I messed up the order of the book series of "The Lords" and read this one the last. Which may also be a reason why I didn't like Sin that much. My relationship with him will be love him but as a friend...after reading the sacrifice, I'm staying loyal to him.

This book is pitch black, read trigger warnings and proceed only if this is something you're interested in. Hating on a book knowing that you don't appreciate the concept is plain rude to the author and other readers.

I feel sorry for my bestfriend for she's been tolerating me screaming out my love for Tyson.

I finally entered into Rina Kent universe and it was better than what i had expected. I did went in blind with no expectations tbh after reading alot of Shantel Tessier but I absolutely ate this book.

I gotta admit the inappropriate actions in the beginning of their story scared me and can be uncomfortable for people especially being a bully romance...

Aiden King is one hell of a twisted deviant madafuka. He is ✨ obsessive ✨ to say the least. I don't know how many times he said "mine". He can be unpredictable, scary, disturbing (yeah disturbing) still he managed to trap my heart.

Elsa is smarter than me. Girl loves her bestfriend Kim which was I LOVED. She acts like a mother to her, stands up for herself, thinks about her lil family alot, and is not a freaking doormat. Girl knows how to fight back.

Its rare for me to end a book and still be invested over the side characters. Aiden's minions, their banter was amazing especially a few scenes made me laugh alot. I'll be reading all of their stories no doubt. Silver is the most annoying tho idk how I'll handle her.

The fucking cliffhanger + the bonus ch from Aiden's pov!!!! I'm not kidding I started the next book IMMEDIATELY.

I've read alot of negative reviews and the thing is if you're still reading after the trigger warnings and tropes...its on you buddy.

Woah okay that happend! This was my most highlighted book so far. The chemistry, the tension, the suspense, the mystery, the four horseman, RONAN my dude..... astronomical.

The mystery of past sure kept me hooked till the end and it was tough keeping myself from turning the book and spoiling it. The love hate relationship was
