This story really took me through all of the emotions from anger, rage, frustration, hatred, sadness, and disgust. Do not go into this book thinking that you were just gonna read a retelling of a classic story. This is NOT that.
This is one of those stories that creeps up on you slowly, quiet at first, but you know something’s brewing. The tension that lives in small towns with long memories and buried secrets pulses through every page of this book. And at the eye of that storm is Maddy Washington.
Maddy is a haunting character carrying a sense of dread that builds with every chapter. Everything that has already been done to her, leading to what is coming. When you think things start to look like maybe they’ll turn out okay… RUN!!
This book offers slow burn horror and the suffocating realization that some monsters can’t be hidden.
However, Maddy isn’t the monster they think she is, but that doesn’t mean she won’t become something to fear. Maddie is very much a product of her surroundings environment, and nature versus nurture. Dealing with racism, bullying, vengeance power, rage, and control. She takes matters into her own hands and rights every wrong she’s ever experienced. The cost is great and the lives of others will be forever changed.
This has heavy themes of control, racism, bullying, identity and vengeance.

A second-chance romance with workplace tension, emotional history and decent banter. Ama and Elliot’s dynamic is lusty from the jump. Ama is ambitious, Elliot is broody and guarded, and they still have chemistry, despite the past.
The story offers humor, heartbreak, and slow burn tension. A dream wedding project that forces them to work together. The engaged couple offer some fun touch and charm to the story.
this was a cute story of a past relationship that didn’t work out due to fears of relationship failure. I did enjoy it although I know that there are better books out there. This was a cute fun palate cleanser in between other more richly woven stories.

I have a new fondness for skeletons. Gideon’s got a sword, a stack of dirty mags, and no patience for the goth nonsense of the Ninth House. Harrow her enemy drags her into a deadly space palace full of magic trials, necromancers, and way too many skeletons, she pretends to be Harrows cavalier. Divided and defeated all so Harrow can become Lyctor to the Empire.
This is a Gothic sci-fi fantasy with lesbian undertones, but no spice . Space, ancient secrets, murder puzzles, and dialogue that crackles like a lit match. Great banter, sharp wit, it’s mysterious, twisty and fast paced. The vibes? Haunted castle meets sarcastic fanfic energy.
It’s weird, messy with heart and bones (lol) and more attitude than a resurrected corpse with something to prove.
You’ll either vibe with it hard or wonder what the hell just happened. Either way, you won’t forget it.

From the very first line, I was hooked. The world is all shimmering gold and frozen beauty but isolating. The idea of being so completely owned, even glamorized, by someone as powerful as a King was disturbing. You feel for the main female character but also anger towards her for accepting so little.
The deeper I got into the story, the more I realized how twisted things were beneath all that glitter. The relationship she thought was love slowly unravels, and that shift hit hard. It made me think about what it really means to feel safe, and how easy it is to mistake a cage for a sanctuary when it’s dressed up in gold.
This is emotional, dark a twisted fantasy that kept me turning the pages. It’s not just a story about power it’s about reclaiming your voice when everything around you is trying to silence it. If you love fantasy with depth, heartbreak, and fierce self-discovery, this one’s definitely worth the read.

Make sure you have tissues, you’re going to need them.
Can a dedicated successful woman have it all? Ambition, real love and does it have to come at a price?
We met Hendrix Barry in Before I let Go and This could be us. She is a bad a$$ who commands attention sharp, driven, and unapologetically focused on building a life many only dream of. But deep down she grapples with duty and desire. Juggling the demands of a booming career and caring for a parent while trying to protect her heart.
Is he someone she’s needed but wouldn’t allow herself to have? Maverick Bell the epitome of tall, dark and handsome with equal parts charm and challenge. He immediately sparks chemistry. but what makes this story shine isn’t just the attraction it’s the emotional depth. Maverick not only wants her but he sees her, and that connection forces her to question what is worth having, and what is worth letting go.
If you love, a well told story written beautifully with a powerful passionate and successful female main character, this is absolutely the book for you.

This was a dark, emotional, and surprisingly original take on both superhero tropes and teen struggles. The story follows Matt, a high school outcast who believes his hunger gives him special powers abilities that he plans to use to uncover the mystery behind his sister’s disappearance. The premise alone is compelling, but what really hits is how it blends psychological depth with surreal elements. Matt’s relationship with food, identity, and pain is intense and often uncomfortable, but it’s also deeply honest.
As he sinks deeper into his self-imposed starvation, the line between power and self-destruction blurs. It’s not just about solving a mystery it’s about surviving your own mind. It covers tough topics like eating disorders, trauma, or queer identity, with grit and heart. If you’re into stories that make you think and feel, this one’s a haunting but powerful ride.

Mallory Greenleaf, a former chess prodigy, gave up her passion due to personal trauma. Her unexpected win against Nolan Sawyer current world champion sets her on a journey that’s as much about reclaiming her self as it is about climbing the competitive chess ranks.
The chemistry between Mallory and Nolan is electric, filled with witty banter, tension, and genuine vulnerability. Nolan isn’t just a “Bad Boy of chess” but there’s more beneath the surface, and watching his connection with Mallory deepen is a highlight of the story. The story tackles the mental toll of both fame and family responsibility, adding a realism to the romantic and competitive drama.
This was a good time. I laughed and giggled at the banter. The characters are smart, funny, and full of heart. If you like a good character driven story with themes of healing, family loyalty, and second chances sprinkled with drama and tension this is for you.
