Jen Monroe dreams of marrying the love of her life and filling a minivan full of kids, but hasn't found the right man. Jen's unlucky love life might have to do with her being in love with Abel Miller, her brother's best friend, who has a notorious reputation as a playboy with no interest in marriage or kids. When Jen's father tells her he has cancer and that he wants to see her dreams come true, Abel suggests she move in with him as his fake wife. Things heat up between them when Jen realizes her feelings aren't one-sided and Abel's not the playboy he pretends to be.
This is one of the best brother's best friend books that I've read in a while. Brother's best friend + he's been in love with her as long as she's been in love with him if not longer, is an elite combo. The mutual pining is perfect and Abel and Jen nailed it.
Your Honor, I'm obsessed with Abel Miller. The man is obsessed with everything about Jen. I love how deeply he cared for her over the years. His love was prevalent even when he didn't realize it. Acts of service is 100% this man's love language. The way he is always thinking about her and how to make her life a little easier shows how deep his love is for her. They say that "to be loved is to be seen" and that describes Abel Miller's love for Jen Monroe to a tee.
The spice was great. Jessica always surprises me with her spice because her books are so sugar sweet in the best way. ๐ play doesn't do much for me, but the scene in chapter 26 was HOT ๐ฅต

When a five year old in Cassidy's class is adamant there are pink cows that produce strawberry milk, she is determined to prove him wrong. She reaches out to Andrew Dawson, owner of O'Hares Ranch, to set up a field trip to see the cows. Cassidy meets Andrew the day of the field trip and instantly attracted to him, but doesn't act on it because she's in a relationship. Over the next few years, their tension continues to build until an Easter Egg Hunt event brings them together to explore their desires.
I enjoyed this novella a lot. I liked the development of Andrew and Cassidy's relationship through emails and chats each time she brought her class to the farm. The tension building was done well and had me dying for them to finally get together. I liked the spice, but I do wish we got a little more of it. The tension was so good that I felt like we didn't get to see enough of them together. Primal play isn't my favorite because I can't imagine I'd get turned on by running (I'd be too focused on not dying ๐), but I really liked how the primal/chase play worked out in this story. The rope play was ๐ฅต.

Caleb Goode has it all. He's been married to his college love, Briar, for seven years and they have an amazing daughter together. His life looks perfect on the outside, but it's far from it. Caleb and Briar's marriage started off great, but when they struggled to have another baby, their relationship started to face challenges. Before long, they found themselves walking on eggshells around one another and are deeply disconnected. When a person from Caleb's past, Dean, moves in to their guest apartment, both of them find themselves attracted to him. Things heat up when the three of them begin to explore their budding relationships and the possibilities of being together.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book based on some of the tropes, but I really enjoyed it. It explored a lot of deeper themes than I was anticipating and was written well. I appreciated the growth the all three main characters experienced. I thought their chemistry was off the charts. Briar is really living my dream, which is to have two hot men, who are obsessed with me, love me together. And share me in all the fun and dirty ways imaginable ๐
Cheating is a trope that I struggle with when one of the main characters is cheated on by the other main character and stays with them. I especially don't like it when the cheater tries to gaslight the person they cheated on. I would never be able to trust a cheating partner again, so I struggle to find that trope romantic. While that is a trope in this story, I wasn't bothered by it. It felt like it was used to get the three of them to finally start working their feelings out. It also didn't feel like they ever tried to use what happened to gaslight or manipulate.
I am SO excited for the third book. I hope we get a lot of, "Yes, professor" moments ๐

After breaking up with her cheating ex-boyfriend, Anna Heights is ready for a fresh start. She decides to leave behind her life in Vancover and start fresh in Cherry Peak, a small town in Alberta. New to town, Anna quickly makes friends with two women in town and starts trying new things. One night, her new friends take her to a local bar. It's there she meets Brody Steele, a rising country star. He's too hot for words, except when he opens his mouth and comes off as a total jerk. Anna wants nothing to do with him, but his sweet gestures and friendship make it hard for her to resist him. Especially when he's been a key part of her healing journey.
Do you ever read a book and just think the two main characters were perfectly made for each other? That's Brody and Anna. They are perfect together. They were so sweet it was making me sick (in the best way).
I love how much they equally care for each other. I loved that Anna made sure she protected and cared for Brody as much as he did for her. She was ready to fight anyone that hurt him. They have the type of healthy relationship that you see with a couple in the real world. It was built from a foundation of mutual respect and trust.
Brody is my new favorite Hannah Cowan mmc. Sorry to Maddox and Adam. He's obsessed with Anna, takes care of her, and is hot. A king. No notes. 10/10. Anna is easily my favorite heroine of Hannah's. I loved her fierceness, her willingness to try new things, and her vulnerability.
So excited for book two!

Maren is working on her master's degree in education and looking for a way to make money. When she finds out that Tuck is looking for a nanny for his four year old daughter, she jumps at the opportunity. She was prepared for all the things that come with nannying, except her super hot boss and the undeniable attraction between them. When their tension boils over, they have a great night together, but agree to move on like nothing happened. Except that's hard to do when a test with two pink lines changes their entire lives forever.
One thing about me, I LOVE the single dad/nanny trope. I blame Jude Law for her performance in The Holiday. When I saw the tropes for this book, I quickly added it to my tbr.
I enjoyed this story a lot. Maren and Tuck have a great connection and their chemistry is off the charts. Accidental pregnancy can be hit or miss for me depending on how it's done. I liked that Tuck and Maren were all in together on the baby and being together. The third act breakup wasn't my favorite in the world and didn't make total sense at first, but I understood it was a trauma response. I wish Tuck would've done a little more soul searching with his therapist on page. It felt a little rushed.
I liked the spice that we got. I died a little when he said, โYou gonna be a good girl and do as I say?โ and then told her she wasn't in charge. The way I would've folded so quickly if he said that to me. I do wish we got a little more spice especially given the forbiddeness of their relationship.

Lu used to spend every summer at her grandparents house on Bald Island, North Carolina riding golf carts, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. Summer was Lu's favorite time of the year, especially the summer she turned eighteen and fell in love with Riley, the housekeeper's son, who was her first for everything. Now ten year's later, Lu is back for her best friend's wedding and face to face with the man who broke her heart.
This was a fun read that was a great start to the series. I loved young Lu and Riley in chapter one. They had that quintessential young love that was so sweet. It was hard to see how heartbroken adult Lu was ten years later, but I totally understood why. I loved how Riley worked to gain her trust and helped her come back to herself. He's inspired by Glen Powell, which did make it easy to love him.
I saw a review that said the spice was too much, which admittedly, made me want to read it even more. I thought the spice was good. It was perfect Jessica Peterson spice. If you've read book two in her Sex and Bonds series, then you know what I mean.

Lily's time is running out before her first heat as she nears her twenty-first birthday. She would love nothing more than to find her own pack, preferably with some members of the club her stepfather runs, but he's declared her off limits to everyone. When new members join the club, including her stepbrother, Lily looks to them to make a pack of her own. When secrets are revealed that threaten to tear the club apart, Lily and her men must work together to get to the truth.
I've been putting off writing this review for awhile because I simply don't want to do it ๐ฅฒ
Before I start, let me preface by saying that I adore Sarah and her writing. She was my most read author in 2023 and at least three of her books were in my top 20 reads. I've loved my chats with Sarah on Instagram and she's put up with my 88 million niche questions/what if scenarios. I say all this because I'm a big fan of hers and the way she writes.
I was excited for this book, especially as a Sons of Anarchy fan, but unfortunately, I didn't care for this book. It pains me to say that because I wanted to love. It felt like there were a bunch of ideas put together that were underdeveloped and made the story feel jumbled and messy. It was also unnecessarily long and repetitive, which made my investment in the story low.
I didn't care for Lily at all. I get that she was shielded a lot by her stepfather, but I felt like her strength and development could have developed over the story, but it didn't. She was just annoying and one dimensional. Sarah has written a character similar to Lily (Liv from Omega's Obsession), but her development paid off in the end. Unfortunately, Lily's did not.
I felt like Lily didn't have a connection with any of her men. I did not like how she treated Cash during her heat. Major ick from her. I was also disappointed in Axel. He was marketed as an unhinged Beta, but honestly, he felt kind of tame. Maybe he was built up too much in my head, but if a character is billed as unhinged/does morally grey things, I expect them to be pretty wild or it doesn't fit the description.
I will definitely give the next book a shot because I know Sarah writes great stories.

As the club's enforcer, Harlem is used to maintaining order and getting everyone to fall in line. Well, almost everyone. Indigo Monroe is the one person that refuses to listen to Harlem. She grew up with the president of a motorcycle club and hates bikers because of it. When he bakery is in need of help, she's forced to let the NOLA Rebels buy in, but she's not happy about it. She's even less happy when Harlem is around a lot, a man that infuriates her to no end. As Indigo gets to know more about the single dad biker, her dislike of him starts to turn in to something more.
I've been enjoying this series as each new release comes out. I was excited for this one because of how feisty Indigo is and her dislike of Harlem. Plus, I'm a sucker for a single dad romance. I really enjoyed the first 60% of the book. It was a solid dislike to lovers with great spice (hello daddy kink ๐). I loved Harlem and the way he was obsessed with Indigo.
However, the story started to go off the rails a bit. The issue was the pacing of the story. Their relationship got accelerated and started to come off very cheesy. Either the story needed to be a bit longer or some things needed to get cut earlier to allow them more time together.
I will say I think we got some good insights into future pairings. I'm hoping Harlem's daughter will end up with one of the guys. Maybe Priest ๐
Thank you to Mackenzy Fox for the early copy!
