4.5 stars. I don't know what I was expecting when I picked up this book but it wasn't what I got. As someone who has visited Ikea more than once the mixture of familiarity with the horror of the supernatural was intense and painted a vivid picture in my mind.

I LOVED this. The art was great and I love that the female characters weren’t drawn with perfect bodies and fake proportions. The story was interesting, the touch of romance was perfect and balanced the rest of the drama. I was sad when it ended, I was left wanting more.

I've seen the Greek gods written in a lot of different ways but this book takes a new approach. The imagery and descriptive gore was amazing. The plot has so many twists and turns, and honestly this is the first book in some time that I haven't been able to guess what was going to happen. I found the first third a little slow but the mystery kept me reading and by the end I was left with so many questions. I can't wait for the second book!!

The world building and all the different courts and types of witches were done so well that I just kept wanting to learn more! The characters were interesting and the plot was exciting. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I was more interested/attached to the secondary characters than the main two. I hope the future books explore more of their stories. Otherwise it was AMAZING.

I gave Natalie Cammaratta's first book five stars and if I could give this one six I would. This series is the best dystopian I’ve read since the Hunger Games.

I got the ARC for this book from the author and I am so blessed that I did. Our favorite characters continue their story and the stakes get even higher. New settings, new foes, and a bunch of twists and turns left me constantly second guessing who was bad guy and who could be trusted. By the end I was shocked, my heart hurt, and I was once again left wanting more.

Cammaratta's writing is beautiful and descriptive, but smooth enough that I could breeze through it quickly. It's the perfect combination and what makes her books some of my favorites.

I loved this book. I recently reread the Hunger Games books and found it hard to find any dystopian stories that were comparable until now. I thought the pace was perfect, the development of the characters was well done, and I liked the introspection that they went through. The relationships were sometimes complicated and the witty dialogue was fun. What I loved most is that while it ended as expected since it's the first in a series, it wasn't the type of cliffhanger that left me upset. I felt like Natalie is giving me a chance to breathe before we move on with the next one.

It was interesting to see how the hunger games had changed from the beginning but I didn’t care for Snows character building. I felt he didn’t become himself until the last 100 pages.

I knew going into a book about 1940's lesbians it wasn't going to be an easy read, it would be emotional, and I was right. I loved this book, and even though I cried like a baby at one point, I would recommend it to anyone. I think it's important to see how life was back then, and remember that just because we've come so far in certain places, there are still areas of the world that are like that now.
