Not a bad read. I got my copy when it was the free weekend book on NOOK, and it was my first manga. It felt a little lacking in plot, but ultimately enjoyable. There was definitely a learning curve when it came to figuring out how to read it, though. :)

This book scratched a mental/emotional itch I did not even know was there. I mean, found family, emotional resonance, fantasy AND sci-fi? This book really has it all, and I'm definitely going to end up reading it again. :)

I am firmly neutral towards this book. It had a strong concept, but its delivery fell through. The characters had potential but ultimately didn't get any strong characterization. This was an unremarkable book that I don't regret reading, per se, but that I would not enjoy rereading.

This was a great sequel. I really like the worldbuilding, and the characterization was SO GOOD. I definitely recommend reading it if you enjoyed the first book.

Although I'm giving it a relatively low rating, I enjoyed this book considerably more than Orwell's 1984. The quality and tone of the writing was better, the plot was more engaging, and it felt like it would have been better to read in a classroom than 1984 was.

This was an amazing book. Although slower-paced than I usually like, this was a suspenseful book that kept me reading. It was plenty mysterious, and left me with plenty of questions about the specifics but also with a pretty good idea of the event itself. A very spooky read for Halloween!

This was such a fun read! It wasn't what I expected, and I'm glad for that. It was hard to put down, and I read most of it in one sitting. I enjoyed it and picked up on the story and worldbuilding pretty fast, but I probably should have read Shadow and Bone first.
