This book was so so good!!
Auntie Bev never ever disappoints and is the Queen of historical romance to say the least. I was immediately invested from page 1. Drake and  Valinda’s love is the kind of love you dream of. It’s so beautiful and full of passion. The only person who got on my last nerve in this book was Valinda’s father. He was a straight co*k blocker 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Just didn’t know how to be embrace and support his daughter’s happiness!! Other than that, I want to marry Drake!!! 🫣🫣🫣Valinda’s intended—Cole… he was another story nonetheless, he played a crucial part in this beautiful love story. This is one of those books where you don’t know where to start when it comes to the review. I will start by saying that Ms. Bernice McFadden’s writing style is phenomenally iconic. It embodies everything the words say and more as you read through her wonderful stories. This one on particular took me away and into a world I knew nothing about from page 1! Sugar has never known what it meant to have someone who truly cared for her starting with her own mother. She seeks love and a better life except she has no idea what a better life consists of. I could literally go on and on about this one , but I would rather you see for yourself how captivating, heartstring pulling, and unforgettable this book truly is. There is literally an essence to capture here. Please add this book to your radar asap if you haven’t already!!!

This book left an impact in my life and on my soul from page one. I related to Maddie through the entire story because she was a bearer of weight that she had no business bearing at such a young age. But also, Maddie is a trooper— like myself. She endured many things yet she never let anything truly stop her., except for her dad. He was worth it. He loved her genuinely. I didn’t really like her mother, because let’s call a spade a spade— she wasn’t the best one she could be. I wish that she nurtured Maddie way more. My heart truly broke for Maddie in all aspects of her life. This book touched on so many subjects that the world needs to hear. It’s so hard to write an honest review without spoiling the book! I will say that this book was captivating and prodigious. I learned so much not only about Maddie and her hurdles but also about myself. This is without a doubt my favorite book this year so far. Kudos to @jessicabgeorge. Queen 👑 If you haven’t read Maame yet, don’t miss out! This story will stay with you for life!

I will never look at Beauty & The Beast the same after Finley & Nyfain 🥵 in a good way tho lol talk about some hot sh!t… 
This story was soooo juicy from page one! Finley endured so much to try and save her family but instead she ended up getting captured and using her knowledge and love to help change the shifters around her. She was resilient and loved her family, especially her father who was dying. She continues to cross the forbidden woods 🚫 knowing she could die each time., but what she didn’t expect was to get into a love/hate/ relationship with “the beast”…. Man this story will take you on an entire roller coaster ride with twist and things you wouldn’t believe!!! This is your sign to read A Ruin of Roses!! It was amazing! The only thing I didn’t really like was the age gap,( I don’t think I like that trope honestly , I think because I’m a mom lol) but other then that it’s really worth the read! Try it… cross over to the forbidden woods real quick 😈 What wouldn’t Finley do for some Everglass?…

This story captivated me from the beginning, because as a now single mother of 3, the main character — B’onca was me. I was resilient, determined, and motivated to do WHATEVER I had to do as a mom, fresh out of high school. NO MATTER THE COST!

B’onca was young when she became a mother and did whatever she had to do to protect her baby girl… even at the expense of everyone she cared for. This book was very well written, and most importantly very relatable to the world today. Teen pregnancy is definitely an epidemic that this world is faced with each and everyday.

In this book, B’onca is faced with eviction, being financially stable, and race issues. This book highlights all of the things that I have personally experienced in my life which is why this book will always be so dear to me. The best part is the fact that B’onca overcame rhe adversities and diversities of life as a teen mom.

ᗰY TᕼOᑌGᕼTᔕ:

To say the least, I will NEVER forget this book and I will probably be re-reading it soon! This story tells us that no matter what bad things may come along in life, there’s always room for hope when you have people who care. From the beginning, I fell in love with the strength and love in the friendship between Quinn, Emma, and Steph. Then I was captured by the love stories within the love story. 
Quinn & Theo we’re resilient and beautiful. Emma & Niko we’re hopeful and full of happy endings, and Steph & Jay displayed how beautiful and how ugly co-parenting after a divorce can be. The way all of these relationships issues went out the window, and friendship overcame, sisterhood was honored first. This is a beautiful story about secrets that can very well destroy you — if you let them. This story was beautifully written, and very well thought out. So well written that it makes you wonder: what is worth taking to the grave in your life? I would definitely and highly recommend you read this book if you haven’t already. This one is for life. To The Grave.🤞🏽

This book was soooo good!!!. It definitely kept me in the edge of my seat. The story kept taking unexpected twists that made it even more interesting. The writing style was perfect and so were the different POVs. I really enjoyed this book and I definitely recommend you reading The Family Upstairs by @lisajewelluk !
