Elizabeth was just a mere country girl, rumored to be the descendant of the great water goddess Melusina. She falls for a handsome young king named King Edward and becomes his wife. Together they face many battles and will eventually lead to one of the greatest mysteries of all time, the missing York Princes of the tower.

If I could rate this 2 1/2 stars, I would have. This tale shows female power which is one thing I quite enjoyed, Elizabeth is not your average woman this is not your average tale about a damsel in distress. It also contains many battles and conflicts, at first it's intriguing but then it turns into almost the same thing over and over again (They battle, Elizabeth has a baby, they go into hiding) this happens several times so it slowly becomes irritating. Elizabeth is constantly having a baby that it becomes one of the most important and most talked about situations in the story that it gets annoying and I slowly start to lose interest. By the time I flipped to the last page I whispered, "thank goodness its over". If your a historical fiction buff, you may like this, you may not. Rated: 15 and over because of the way the language is spoken and because of the sexual situations in the book.

Meg Powers never has her senator mother around so when she announces that she's running for president, you can imagine the disappointment in Meg who just wishes to have a normal family. Now all she can do is smile and pretend like it's not bugging her to maintain the 'image' of a happy family, when deep down inside Meg is desperately hoping her mother does not win the election.

I was so excited to read this book because I've heard so many good things about 'long may she reign' and then I see that this book had a 4 star review so I definitely had high hopes. To my disappointment it wasn't what I expected. The main conflicts in this book are internal, hardly any external ones so it wasn't that interesting. Since it deals with internal problems it would probably have been a bit more entertaining if it was told in first person point of view instead of third person. I tried to get into it, I really did, but it lacked climax as well as a good ol' external conflict. Although, I am going to give the second book a try, maybe the author just intended to make the first book as sort of an introduction to the series and with each book, it will just get better and better (hopefully) I hate to say it but wouldn't recommend to anyone. Rating:15 and over because of sexual content.

Vampyre Fledging Zoey Redbird has just gotten settled down in her new home, The House of Night. She's barely getting adjusted to sleeping during the day and awaking at night, and she's also barely getting used to her new incredible powers the goddess has blessed her with. Now human kids are going missing near the House of Night and everyone is beginning to think it's the vampyre's doing. Zoey is going through several problems (one includes balancing three relationships) and when Zoey needs her friends the most an unexpected death strikes the house of night.

In the 'Betrayed' we are introduced to several new character's that we grow to either love or hate. The story began very slow paced but once I was passed 1/3 of the book I began to get sucked in by the books unexpected twists. I got to the point where I got so sucked in that I began to almost feel what the character's felt. The author's do an amazing job at describing things detail by detail. I took of one star off because of the slow beginning but other than that this story was a very fun, entertaining, thrilling, sexy, and sometimes comedic story. Because of some sexual content and a few curse words I set the rating for this book a 15 and over. Recommended to those whole love YA books and vampires!

Identical twins Raeanne and Kaeleigh couldn't be anymore different. When their dad gets in a bad car crash that kills a child, the family is never the same again. Their politician mother refuses to give her family any attention and their father soon starts to sexually abuse Kaeleigh although Raeanne wants his attention.

This is one of the most disturbing books I have ever read in my entire life! It's one of those books that you want to stop reading, yet can't put it down at the same time.

SYNOPSIS:
Bethany is one of three angels brought to Venus Cove to prevent the city from darkness. At first Bethany is more than determined to reach her goal, but then she meets Xavier, a boy who keeps to himself but has fallen in love with her and all bets are off...

REVIEW:
This book was AMAZING! From the first few pages I fell in love. The author is so good at describing how they angels felt being apart from their home, how different it was from this world that I felt like I had become Bethany. It's a really cheesy novel, filled with romance and a lot of cheesy quotes from Xavier, which can be either a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about mushy gushy romance. As you draw closer to the middle of the book thats when the romance starts to fade and the main conflict enters. This book was amazing from the start, so good that as soon as I finished it, I went to my local bookstore ASAP to by the sequel, so for that "Halo" gets 5 out of 5 Stars!

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
This book isn't to bad, on a few occasions there is talk about Sex but nothing TOO sexual so for this book I suggest the recommended age to be 12 and over. Recommended to those who love supernatural/forbidden romance.

SYNOPSIS:
Bethany is an angel who falls in love with Xavier, a gorgeous human boy who shows he would do anything for her. When Bethany finds herself on a bike ride to hell she doesn't know what to do, Can an angel survive in hell? Will she be saved before it's to late?

REVIEW:
First, I wanted to mention that Alexandra Adornetto is only 19 YEARS OLD! She worked on "Halo" when she was in high school and became published when she was 18 and it is already a national bestseller!
On to the review, If you thought Jake was gone, THINK AGAIN! Not only does he find a way back to earth, but he drags Bethany into hell!(This is not a spoiler, you can read this in the back of the book) In this novel we encounter several new character, each with their own unique personality. The story goes back and forth between Bethany's life in hell and up in Venus Cove where Gabriel, Ivy, and Xavier are trying everything they can to bring Bethany back to them without causing Armageddon! At the end of the novel, the cliff hanger the reader is left off with is INCREDIBLE!!!! I loved Halo but I got to say: Between Halo and Hades, HADES TAKES THE CAKE!!!!!

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
12 and over due to talk about sex, Recommended to fans of Halo, Those who love romance and adventure books, and those who enjoy a good read!

When Lightning Strikes by Jenny Carroll

16 year old Jess Mastriani has problems: She has a crush on guy that no one close to her approves of, her brother is schizophrenic, her mother makes her wear matching dresses, and her best friend is now constantly insisting in a lot of exercise just because of one "fat" comment made towards her; oh, and on top of that, she gets hit by lightening and now every morning she wakes up knowing where missing children are located.

Jess is not your typical girl, she has a very unique personality and I don't feel like I'm reading about the same girl in a different story (many characters act alike in books), she's funny and tough, a tomboy type of gal. The tale itself is very interesting with much action, romance, and even comedic scenes. I enjoyed Jess's adventure and hope to read the second book. The only reason why I took away one star was because the story itself started a little to slow for me, it wasn't until probably the middle of the book when the action began to start taking place. Recommended to girls who want a little adventure and romance in their lives.

SYNOPSIS:
Mackie is not who others think he is. Sure he looks human but he's something more. He comes from a world under the city he lives in, a world full of living dead girls ruled by a tattoo little princess. When tragedy strikes and one of Mackie's schoolmates little sister dies,Tates, She fails to believe that the dead corpse was really her sister, and she turns to Mackie to help her prove it.

REVIEW:
I was excited when I started to be reading this book. Even though I didn't have major high hopes for it, I thought it would be a little bit better. I had expected a chilling, horrific novel, the novel was hardly what I had expected. You constantly find Mackie in the same situations (He gets sick, he's healed, he gets sick, he's healed, over and over). It wasn't until the last 60 pages that the action really started to get going and I kept flipping page onto page until the very end, for that I will give the replacement a "Small Heart Rating" (AKA 3 out of 5 stars).

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
Every now and then the reader encounters the occasional curse word, so for that I give the age rating a 13 & over. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a chill down there spine, but nothing even close to horrifying.

REVIEW:
Now THIS is a story about beautiful and ugly things. It is a story of love and a story of things that go bump in the night. This book was everything tied into one! Horror, Adventure, Action, and of course Romance. I found myself teary eyed when I turned to the last page. The beginning wasn't so bad but once you start getting into the middle you'll just want to keep flipping page after page. The love story is so amazing! Yet I love how the romance in the novel doesn't distract and takeover all the action and horror in the novel. Thank you Kendare Blake for writing such a fantastic novel!

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
This book isn't so bad, just a few curse words here and there so I set the rating to 12 and over. I would recommend this book to those who love YA Horror and for those YA fans looking for a novel where the romance doesn't get to mushy gushy and takeover the whole book.

SYNOPSIS:
Mary was raised in a post apocalyptic world, in a town surrounded by "unconsecrated". The town is run by nuns who believe that the purpose of their town is to keep everyone reproducing, so that life can go on in a world surrounded by death. Mary doesn't believe in the things the nuns say, she was raised with stories about oceans and buildings as tall as the sky, she believes there is life beyond their town, and she is determined to find out where.

REVIEW:
The beginning of the novel is slow but holds its importance because it introduces us to the important characters, the stories of each of them and the links that binds them together. I just feel that it dragged on to much and could've been cut shorter. It took a while until the book took an interesting turn but eventually after a while, the exciting part of the story kept on repeating itself. It wasn't until the last 50 pages when the action kept coming, the book kept surprising me. It had me feeling excitement, sadness, anger, until the very last page was turned. All in all, I rate this book 3 1/2 stars because the author did have me at the edge of my seat towards the end of the novel.

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
This book doesn't contain any strong language but it does have a bit of violence and some of the words are a bit challenging so I recommend it to those who are 12 and over. I recommend this book to any zombie fan out there but keep in mind, it's not really about "zombie slaying", more like surviving in a world that now belongs to the dead.
