Paw and Order by Diane Kelly is a delightful and funny book. It is the second book in the Paw Enforcement series. Megan Luz and her very smart K-9 partner, Brigit are off for adventures at the rodeo. Megan and Brigit are local celebrities after solving the “Tunabomber” case from Paw Enforcement (the first book in the series). Megan needs to solve a series of escalating robberies that are happening at the rodeo, deal with romantic issues, and try to keep Brigit out of her shoe closet. I truly enjoyed this book with its humor (especially Brigit’s thoughts), romance, and mystery. There is foul language in this book (not excessive). I loved this book and look forward the next book in this series. I did receive a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Paw and Order will be out on December 2 (I just love book release day)! Happy Reading!

I can't really recommend these, but they're not all bad. And they're keeping me from finishing Nettles & Bone too fast. But I think now I'll procrastinate with YouTube instead.

I enjoyed this book, However I thought the romance part of it was over the top. The books starts off with Megan's and Seth's on and off again relationship and wraps itself around the storyline. I am not really into romance novels, I am definitely a mystery book reader. The storyline was ok, the plot was solid, but the climax of this story was great! at least for me anyway. If you are into dogs then you would like this series of books. This is a leave or take kind of book series.

I love German Shepherds and enjoy reading about Brigit's thoughts as a dog, Her owner on the other hand Megan can be over the top and nerve wrecking with all her crazy antics. This is a good comfort cozy read...look forward to reading Book #3 "Laying down the Paw"

The jury is still out on if I actually enjoy this series. Sometimes the main character is a little too crass for me, but I also haven't experienced anyone with her personality before in writing, so it maybe grow to be something I don't mind. It could also be the audiobook narrator influencing my opinion too, since her inflections/tone help define the character and may not be the way I would have read it in my head. Brigit, the police dog's, narration is sometimes a little bratty, if a dog can sound bratty. Again, part of me things it's the narrator and not the words themselves, but it's near impossible to separate the two when listening. Overall, I'll probably give the third book a try and make up my mind from there on if I continue the series. They are quick listens/reads, so giving it another shot isn't a huge commitment.

This book was so great, there were ups and downs with her relationships, and there was a fantastic mystery! Can't wait to read more!

"my heart squirmed in my chest like a feral kitten afraid of being held. every synapse in my brain misfired. damn this guy makes me stupid."

"you could stand to learn some manners." she gave me her standard kiss-my-fluffy-ass look of indifference.

"i ogled. ogle. ogle. oooh-gle."

"he was a fire i'd like to play with a little more. then again, if you play with fire, you risk getting burned. still, i wouldnt mind toasting a marshmallow or two over him."

"though she would never understand how her sisters could be satisfied with their meager, unexceptional lives, a small part of her envied their contentedness. things would certainly be easier for her if she lacked ambition and taste."

"thanks to her i had to stand in line for three and a half hours at the DMV today to get a new driver's license. thats how criminals should be punished."

Megan and her partner, Brigit, must now work the rodeo show to help with PR for the police department. But things get interesting when Megan and Seth start having some issues about getting back together. Megan meets someone else, and their is a woman snatching purses at the fair. Megan is determined to find the culprit, and figure out what is going on between her and Seth, even though it may not be as easy as it sounds.

This one wasn't as good as the first one. I found the first half of it didn't hold much of my attention, but the second half was really interesting. I hope Seth and Megan work out, and I was a little annoyed with her other choice. Other than that, I liked the book, and I look forward to reading more.

January 1.

Megan Lutz and her trusty K-9, Brigit, are back for the second book in the series.

Megan and Brigit are assigned to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo which runs for three weeks. Their primary function is PR for the department until the show's patrons are being robbed.

I think that Megan's character has grown in this book. I'm glad she didn't play with her baton as much this time around. That drove me nuts in the last book! I hate the introduction of another possible love interest as I truly dislike the dreaded triangle. I would like to see her relationship with Seth mature. I enjoy the division of the chapters between Megan, Brigit and the "Robin Hood" bandit. Brigit's thought process is amusing and keeps me interested. I would have liked to see a little more of Blast (Seth's dog).

A good solid read.

I love how K-9 officer Bridget gets to share her point of view as the dog half of the partnership. Having the story set at a rodeo was fun.
