FANTASTIC!!! I'm really liking this New Adult genre. I find that a lot of the stories are kind of similar in a sense but they all have leading female character that has gone through something "world altering" and they find themselves becoming stronger after the event while finding themselves in their college career, then they find this boy who wants to fix everything, and has usually gone through something "world altering" as well. But the boy lets the girl do what she needs to do and tries to help and stay out of the way at the same time... and to be honest, I kind of love that.

This book reminds me of another book I read with some similar "world altering" incidents on both parts of the male and female character. But the stories themselves are so different it is in no way like reading the same book.

I love that Cam is this heartwarming character that has you completely face palming when Avery says no to his ridiculous attempts asking her out. I love the characters and the story, the craziness and the happiness... This book it a must read!

3.4 stars. This was a difficult book to enjoy for me. The story is based on a young woman's difficulty dealing with her past and how it is effecting her present. Something horrible happened when she was just 14 and it left her shattered. It is worse than just the event. The people who should have been there, the support she should have had were all absent. She was bullied, humiliated and isolated from hope. She never recovered never moved past it, she cowered behind it. She could stay in her box of pain and self loathing, except she meets somebody who she wants to be more for. He is wonderfully open, flirty, sexy and wants to have something with her. The painful reality of a relationship here is bittersweet.
Reading this story I was irritated by her constant sabotage to her own happiness. It was conflicting and painful, I understood her why's, but I wanted her to be more. I wanted some super human response not a realistic one. This story could be any of us, this could be my daughter, my friend.. : ( I'm just not good at these realistic heartbreaking stories. My heart hurt and I don't enjoy that. It was well written, I love this authors work just not this story.

Love you Cam!

Avery is a teenager that has been through a lot, that caused her to be insecure and shy. She was a very popular girl and all was taken from her because of a stupid boy that didn't want a No for an answer. She was pretty stupid also for trying to do woman things when she was actually a teenager and she should have live a healthy life not an addicted one.
When she was older she grew some pants and decided that her life had to change and even though she did some childish decisions, she learned from her mistakes.

Avery's parents... Her mom was a selfish bitch and his dad was wipped. They should have stand for her daughter and fight against the Blaine. Its very important for a girl feeling the security a family gives you because, specially at that age, we are lost and we don't know everything. We are naive and reckless.

Molly was behaving really bad with Avery, she tried to convince her it was her fault she was raped. Which it has logic but even though she knew Avery had no option, she still hated her. I think she's evil and cruel because of what she lived, and has no one to blame but Avery, not even Blaine.

Cam is the bomb. He has the full packager but the only problem is that even though he tries to understand Av, he need to be more patience. He does it most of the times, but the situations that she needed him, he wasn't there and that hurt her so bad. *Those eyes*

The best friend everybody wishes is Brit. She's funny and bold, even though a little too open-minded for me. But she's courageous and supportive, which is perfect for Avery. Because she helps Avery in her decisions.

Jacob. Fabulous. Hot. Sassy. ;)

Ollie could have been a great alternative for Av because he's really funny and crazy, but I prefer him with Brit because they seem like they need each other.

Blaine Fitzgerald. As*h*le.

I like the story but it was missing something. I enjoy reading it so I gave it 4.5 / 5 stars :D
That ending though...

THANK YOU

Wait for You
⭐️⭐️⭐️

The writing made me feel like I was brain dead.

So cliche, so stupid, so angsty - so I fucking inhaled that shit even though I’ve probably read a thousand Wattpads like this.

I hate the name Cameron.

Every side character felt so artificial and their character had no depth.

Cameron’s reaction in chapter 39? Uncalled for, let the girl speak you dumb fuck.

Jennifer L. Armentrout, under pen name, J. Lynn, has written yet another amazing book that took me into a world of a girl struggling to overcome her past. And she has blown my expectations for a well written, amazing story, with great characters, out of the water! I fall in love with JLA, yeah, I’m in love with this author and her work. She’s that fabulous! Anyways, I feel in love with her work when I got my little paws on the Lux series, which then led me to read every single book by her, her YA and her Adult novels. Every book has been amazing, and Wait For You was no exception.

‘And why did he have a pet turtle and did he seriously name it after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, because that was kind of funny.'

I think I have met a guy who might have surpassed my love for Daemon, that’s right! Cam Hamilton jumped right up to my favorite book crushes! Arrogant, cocky, and good-humored with a sweet and never-give-up personality, Cam is just a bundle of OH MY! Jennifer knows how to create guys that I day-dream/fantasize/wish-they-were-real-so-I-could-pounce-them, is that too much? I have so many feels for Cam!

Yup!!

Not only are her male characters damn right awesome, she also writes female characters quite nicely. She makes them were they don’t get on my nerves. Yeah, I hate reading about female characters that are whiny, woe-is-me, my life sucks, kind of personality.

So far, Jennifer hasn’t created on girl who is like that. Now, Avery was a bit different than her other female characters, she was a bit of a sad character, however, as you read, she does have a reason to be the way she is. And like all of Jennifer’s characters, they grow and become stronger. That is what happens to Avery. Also, being inside Avery’s head was an experience, her weirdness and random thoughts reminded me of how I think sometimes.

Now, for some Jacob, I LOVED JACOB!!! He reminded me of my gay friend, whose name is Jacob. Which I guess made me love him even more. He had that attitude and witty banter I can help giggling over.

All of Jennifer’s characters in the book were fun to read, and some I wish we could have gotten more of. What I am really hoping is that there will, eventually, be more added to the story!

Would dive bombing into my apartment seem weird? Yes- yes it would. So I went with a very lame, “Hey…”

Jennifer’s writing has always just pulled me into her stories. That is something I love about her books, how immensely I can be absorbed into them. She can also capture the young adult/teenage girl’s dorkiness so well. Hell, she can capture the feelings and the way young adults think brilliantly.

It’s a book with great pace, has a natural flow of events. The relationships feel natural, which is so so important in any book. The tension, the romance, and the steamy-swoony parts are remarkably written. You become invested in each character, you see them grow, struggle and see them change before your eyes. This book had a very ‘real’ quality to it, not rushed or fake, like most books, the problems or situations that pop up, it felt real.

Wait For You is amazing. I was in love with this book by just the first few pages. And this is another book you just can’t put down!! Also a lot of flailing might occur. With Cam’s smexiness, and Avery’s character growth, I found another book by Jennifer I love, so if you’re a JLA fan or just now discovering her, give this book a try!

Avery has left Texas to attend college at a small town University in West Virginia. Her main priority is that she doesn't know anyone, and can start over. She is glad to finally leave behind her pretentious parents, their country club friends, as well as everyone from school. Being treated as an outcast for the last few years has left her social skills a little lacking, but she hopes to move on and make new friends. Avery quickly becomes friends with Jacob and Brittany, and literally runs into hot guy Cam on the first day of school.

***Spoilers***
It turns out that Cam lives in the apartment next door with his friend Ollie. The two of them become friends, especially after he shows up and makes breakfast every Sunday. He finds out that Avery has never had a boyfriend, or been on a date and takes every opportunity to ask her out. She repeatedly tells him no in the beginning, but finally gives in several months later. He knows she has secrets she isn't sharing, but he has his own. Avery was raped when she was 15 by one of her parents friends son. Instead of things being awkward at the country club, her parents tell her to drop the charges for a ton of money. When she drops the charges, everyone at school starts calling her a lying whore, and because of the non-disclosure agreement, she can't say anything about it. She has to finish high school with no friends, and constantly being ridiculed. A few months after the rape she tried to kill herself, and her shitty parents were only concerned about how it made them look. In the end after almost losing Cam twice, she finally tells him about what happened, and that she recently learned the guy raped another girl, Molly and is in jail. She goes back to Texas to tell her parents off, and tries to talk to Molly, but she is so angry with Avery nothing really gets accomplished. She feels that if Avery had of not dropped the charges he would have already been in jail, and wouldn't have been able to hurt her. At the end of the book Molly texts Avery asking to talk with her. Avery isn't sure what she could want since they haven't talked in months, since Avery went to Texas.
