I usually don't care all that much for the POV of the love interest. It usually just makes me dislike the character, sometimes more than I already do, but I couldn't have been more pleased with the incredibly well-written display of male perspective.

Danaus is a mystery in and of himself. Half-human half-bori creature with a long-standing hate for the nightwakers falls into a companionship with the most powerful and ruthless one of them all. Danaus has always struggled with the grudging "relationship" he has maintained with Mira in the past few months, but until now, I don't think I could've guessed just how deep those struggles ran, or exactly what the cause of those struggles were in the first place. I certainly was in for a shock to see just how deeply his and Mira's connection ran for him.

I was delighted over this change in view, though I would've appreciated the warning at the beginning of the book, rather than 10ish-20 pages in. Danaus is a very complex character and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing his growth over the duration of this book. He's seeing the world in a whole new light, some parts good and some not so much, but overall I think the change will be good for him.

And Mira.... Good Lord that girl is one big pile of "Messed the Hell up!" Hallucinations, loss of powers (or at least stunted), wanted by all the wrong people; will that girl never get a break?! My heart aches for her in this book. It truly does; especially with the added weight of Danaus's concern and fear for the nightwakers he's come to care for. So freaking sweet!!

I can't wait to get my hands on the second to last book in this outstanding series!! This has been one heck of a ride, and with the heart-pounding ending to this fourth book, I'm dying to see just how much worse this can get before Mira and Danaus finally break.

Pray for Dawn is the 4th book in the series, and it just keeps getting better and better. In this book Jocelynn Drake decides to take a different step in that Danaus becomes the narrator for the book. So far, the story has been told from Mira's point of view, but the change is an interesting twist. I liked seeing Mira from Danaus's side. And I liked that we got to know what Danaus thoughts about events.

The naturi are free and Aurora is out. Pray for Dawn starts about three months after events in [b:Dawnbreaker|6289935|Dawnbreaker (Dark Days, #3)|Jocelynn Drake|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1349566314s/6289935.jpg|6474292]. Danaus left Mira in a cave in Peru and they've since gone their separate ways. Fate, however, has a tendencyto bring these two back together again. So. Danaus find himself back in Savannah looking into the murder of a senator's daughter. This is something that can cause unfriendly light to be shown on the othernatural world. Something that they aren't ready or prepared for. So who wants to speed things along with the Great Awakening? And what happened to Mira in the intervening 3 months?

After reading, I conclude that there was no other way to tell this story except from Danaus's point of view. Mira is acting strange, and upon reading (not wanting to give anything away) we find out why. But because of the things going on with Mira it would have become increasinly difficult for her to be narrator of this book. So besides the fact that I liked getting Danaus thoughts and feelings, someone had to be the voice of reason in this book.

We get a new bad guy. The first three books seemed to be one story arc. Even though the naturi are still a real threat, and I'm guessing that big showdown will be saved for the final book, there are still other things that can cause problems in our hero's world, namely the Bori. Bori are the creatures who initially created the Nightwalker, and one currently holds half of Danaus soul. This was something we've learned in previous books and obvioulsy a big deal that eventually would have to have been dealt with, so Pray for Dawn deals with it. The bori has found a temporary escape to earth and wants Danaus to provide a more permanent solution. Of course Danaus does not want to do anything to help the bori, but he know very little about them, so he doesn't know how to deal with them.

I'll admit there were a few things that came out of left field for me, and some things that I'm not sure were necessary in the story, but I'm willing to go with it because I know that Jocelynn Drake has a plan for where she's taking us / the characters. The end is a huge cliffhanger, I'm just happy that I'm reading this now that the whole series is out. No waiting!

W-O-W FREAKING W-O-W! What a fantastic book that had me gasping, and talking to the characters and screaming NO! at the end as it leaves off with an incredible cliff hanger! My husband thinks I've gone crazy.

I don't know if I can wait three days for the next book to be released!

The fourth book in the Dark Days series is told from the viewpoint of Danaus, the sexy half-bori vampire hunter. Its nice to see things from his viewpoint and it really brought a fresh feel to the series. This is a must read for all vampire lovers!

So here we are seeing events unfold through the eyes of Danaus the vampire hunter. He seeks out Mia the Firestarter in Savannah, and discovers that she is slowly losing her mind and that there is a demonic Bori on the loose. With the Naturi free, and the Bori fighting to be free of their cage, what is a flame wielding vampire and a half-bori hunter to do?

A little bit disappointed in Mia's character in this one. She seems very weak here. I wonder if its an attempt to make her seem more sympathetic and human? Don't like it.

I loved Danaus' character in this one, as well as the relationship development between him and Mia.

Interested to see where Drake takes the characters next.

This is the forth book in Jocelynn Drake's Dark Days series. This is a curious series. I like the characters but wish they would get on with the romance you can see coming a mile away. Although with the way this ended, Danaus is going to have to go on an adventure to find out who it is that took Mira. I don't think it was the bad guy they have just defeated. I think it's something new.

*Contains spoiler if you haven’t read the previous books in the series.
**4 and a half stars!

I have been a fan of this Dark Urban Fantasy written by Jocelynn Drake ever since I read the first book a while back. This series has only gotten better with each book and the stakes just keep getting higher and higher.

Mira is a Nightwalker, in other words, she’s a Vampire and has been one for centuries. After so many years and seeing so many deaths, she is wary when it comes to caring about other people and prefers to keep to herself.

Danaus is a Vampire hunter, pure and simple, he hates Nightwalkers and wish the world was rid of them. That is, until months ago when he met Mira and realized that there was much more to the woman than being a killer.

The real villains in this series are the Naturi that in the last book have finally escaped their many centuries old prison and are looking to rid the world of humans and Vamps alike. The Naturi are beings that remind me of creepy and scary Fae, they are connected to Nature and the planet, they believe we have ruined Earth, so they feel we need to be destroyed. Nice, huh?

Pray For Dawn is a breath of fresh air in this great series. Jocelynn Drake changes things up by giving us a whole book told in Danaus point of view and gives a more in depth look into the hunter’s psyche.

After three books told from Mira’s eyes, it was great to see how Danaus sees the world and more importantly it was great to witness at first hand his conflicting feelings towards out dear heroine.

Pray For Dawn is non stop action with a a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat from page one. I really don’t want to give you guys any spoilers, but know that if you enjoy this series, this is a MUST read. If you are new to this series, what the heck is wrong with you?

This is an absolute MUST read for any Urban Fantasy fan out there! The ending left me gasping and I am just glad that the next book, Wait For Dusk comes out July 27th and will be told from Mira’s POV again =)

Another solid entry in this series, this time told from Danaus’s point of view. This book ends with a cliff hanger, which isn’t that upsetting since the next book will be released in a few weeks.
