This book is everything I expected and more! Cass is such a fabulous character. She is a walking contradiction, and I love her for it. One moment she is mature beyond her years, and the next she is like a spoiled teenager. She is stubborn and demanding, and then she turns around and surprises you with her generosity. She is exactly how I imagine someone who had been kept locked up for years would be. She wants to experience everything right now, and then worries about the future. Her relationships with her men are progressing at a perfect pace and I love that each of them appeal to a different part of her personality. They have figured out that she won't be bossed around and she isn't afraid to remind them of that fact when they forget. They mostly just sit back and let her do her thing, which leads to many humorous moments. There are also moments of steamy passion, danger and excitement, and lots of eating. Cass is learning more and more about her powers. She is making new friends, and new enemies, and discovering that things aren't exactly how she thought they were. After reading this one, I'm left with more questions than answers. Who can Cass trust? Who isn't being totally honest? What powers has she still not discovered? Who will stand with her and who will be against in this battle for the world? And the most pressing question, will anyone ever stand between her and her cake? Inquiring minds want to know! I can't wait for the next one and I think EVERYONE should read this book!

This book is so busy, and has so much packed into it! I couldn't stop listening. Picking up where book 1 left off, (Yes, you must listen to all of them to get the full story), Cass and her four soulmates begin to get her ready for war. Going to the Academy is one step and Cass meets several new and intriguing characters there. Noah is one that we just aren't sure of. Full of charm and charisma, she is watching out for him. And her new good friend, the soothsayer Amber. She is a good influence and so far I am really liking her. Cass's relationships grow and the love between her four men and her keeps growing. I did find Cass a little overbearing at times, but with her impending responsibility and her past, I can understand her attitude and frustrations! She is a force to be reckoned with. If you like reverse harems, action packed scenes, strong females and just a really good story, this series is one you will enjoy! It will keep you on your toes, wondering what will happen next and your steam meter high!

Victoria Mei is incredible with her portrayal of this story. There are so many characters, and each time she changes voices, know exactly who is speaking. She nails each one with the perfect voice, giving them their own personality and makes the listen a movie in your mind experience.

The initial sex scenes were a bit overdone and kind of bland and boring in their intensity. The storyline doesn't really start until a good bit into the book. It was also frustrating that Cass seems to have, at least in the beginning of the book, become less intelligent and more whiny and childlike than we left her in the first book. She does come into her own though and with quite a flair. I have to say I wonder if she exudes pheromones that automatically make alpha type women hate her. Amber is sweet. The ending leaves quite the cliffhanger, and I look forward to reading the next book.

Okay, it's getting a bit better.

A Court of Fire and Metal is the second installment of the War of the Gods series. In it, you will have moments where Cass is a bad ass or likable.. but then she kind of just ends up frustrating me a bit. Here or there.. but I just, ugh, don't get it! I like her and her mates.. but it was ugh.

I did, however, enjoy the smut! Mostly because then Cass wasn't annoying the shit out of me. I did, also, really like her powers because they intrigue me. Especially when she was using her powers to be a freaking bad ass and to show people to not underestimate her. Of course, they still did.. but oh well.

Other than that, the ending was a bit dramatic. Maybe it's just me.. but hot damn, I just didn't like it!

Cass has to be the most annoying character I have ever encountered. I couldn't even enjoy the plot of the book because she said and did the most unbelievable things possible. I feel like the author could not have written her to be anymore unlikeable than she did. #trashaf

This lost my interest. I may retry it possibly next year if my reading slump stops but this just didn't help pull me out.

A Court of Fire and Metal, book 2 in the War of the Gods series, is even better than the first! This series is definitely one of my new favorites as Cass's story just gets more complex and exciting with every new page I read.

Cass is really growing into herself. She is no longer the girl locked in a cage by her abusive mother but a woman surrounded by four overprotective men who want her to save the world. She goes to the academy to learn how to use her powers at the place where everyone who wants to fight against the gods is learning and training. The academy is home to supernaturals and humans alike and Cass gets a chance to make a friend, as well as some new enemies. But someone at the academy is not who they say they are, which might just be disastrous for Cass.

Cass and the guys really get to know each other better in this book. From the beginning, their fated bond has drawn them together, but this book shows them getting closer emotionally and really growing their relationship past the physical.... but there is definitely still lots of steam.

This book ends in a tough place for Cass. This is quite the cliffhanger and if I wasn't so in love with this story I'd probably be upset lol. Seriously desperate for book 3 now, I can't wait!

This was so much better than the first book. Cass still has a bad attitude but this time she isn’t stupid with it. She protects the weaker and wants to fight for bad guys. She has accepted her mates, so she is much stronger. She no longer has to fight every single person because she trusts at least 4.

The ending wasn’t a huge shock. We could all see what Noah was. I am looking forward to the next book and how Cass will get stronger and free herself.

Still interesting but the language is becoming more awkward. Calling me her “mate” all the time is just not okay. And claiming that the males are hitting g spots.... nope.

Cass goes to School

How do you handle bullies? Let’s breathe some fire on those b***hes!

Cass just keeps getting better and better. The only thing that bothers me about her is she needs to start trusting the things she senses. She sensed the lesser god in book 1 but shook off that finally by believing it wasn’t real. Same thing happened in this book. She is a boss. We know this, but she doesn’t trust herself or her powers which is starting to become a problem.

This book ends on another cliffhanger and I am here for it. Read this series. You may get pissed off at Cass like I am, but it is still worth the read. Take a chance!
