This is a great mindful book. This is my first book from Thích Nhất Hạnh. I can see why people enjoy his teachings and praise them. While he is Buddhist and some teachings are based from or surrounding Buddhism, his teachings (and most teachings in Buddhism) can apply to anyone. It is all about living and being human, and how to be a better person and better your life and those around you.

I love the chapter about children and how to talk and listen to them. It is not common to see mindful or religious teachings discussing much about children other than "children must listen to their parents" type of jargon. It is refreshing to hear and see discussion on how adults must act towards children too. Communication and harmony goes both ways.

There were parts where it sounds repetitive or a bit questionable, but overall, a great read, especially if you want to listen to something calming.

I will be going back to this book often. TONS of practical advice on how to manage the stresses, pressures, tensions, and toxicities of life and relationships, how to find your truest inner self, and simply, how to breathe. I've got a pretty good life, and I feel like this book can only help it be even better. Not every suggestion is applicable to me, but every practice is easy to do.

Some stuff didn't quite resonate for me, not being a monk and all...BUT, there are some great techniques and practices to be found. It paints mindfulness and self awareness in a logical and understandable way.

Lots of helpful practices in here; this is one I’ll want to return to and marinate in a bit more.
