I found this book very interesting and the overall idea is that a meaningful life implies also being a stressful life. Stress means is very generic and it means different things to different people, but when you encounter stressful situations they are the ones that provide the highest growth. So the book is all about shifting the mindset of how you perceive stress and how those stressful situations tie to your goals / values.

Almost a 5-star, just that i found it a bit repetitive at times.

Maybe 3.5 rating? I'm an indecisive person.

I didn't find this as useful as her other book but I did walk away with healthier ideas about stress and how to handle it so I'm glad I read it.

I loved the message about the upside of stress. That part is 5 stars. I just struggled with reading parts of the book...found myself just wanting to finish at times. Closer to 3.5 or 3.75 stars.

I can’t believe it became the first ever book I finished translating

A little too long. But good info on the studies on rats. And different ways to challenge your thinking. Favorite quote: "Just another cold, dark night on the side of Everest."

This is a book that has the potential to change people’s attitudes towards stress. To me, it has worked very well. I am convinced now to embrace whatever stress that come my way and see them as opportunities to grow and live meaningfully. It is already a very common view that stress is bad and harmful but I recommend those who are stressed to take up this book and think about this question: Are you sure you want to live a completely stress-free life void of any responsibilities or meaning?
