I knew Fizban is pretending to be crazy, but I never see that coming.

No ha habido en la faz de la tierra un libro que me haya llegado más a la patata que este. Ninguno. Quiero hacerle un altar y desde aquí darle las gracias a Kam por descubrirme estos libros.
Voy a beber agua, que estoy un poco deshidratada.

Again, not as great as when I read it years ago. I found this one and Winter night to be much more depressing than I remembered. Tanis's attitude seemed much more forlorn in the last 2 books. One of the better characters dies, which I guess gives the book gravitas, but still.. The best part about this book is the foreshadowing of the next trilogy. Let's see if that one is as good as I remember or fails to uphold the nostalgia.

This series was amazing! Ending was exactly what I expected and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment! Loved the characters and their interactions, especially interesting to see a story of characters with already established relationships and a story.

So, I wrote a review for this when I read it but accidentally deleted a whole bunch of reviews when I was reorganizing my shelves... So I guess I just have to read them all again so I can give accurate reviews :D

This continued to be an enjoyable re-read of the series that I loved as a kid. The 2nd book surprised me in how much of an improvement over the first book it was (gone were the scenes that read like D&D combat, and in were the scenes that dealt more with the characters and their emotions). Unfortunately the 3rd book did not have any surprises in it to make it seem better than the 2nd, and so it felt worse (which is probably unfair). I enjoyed it, but I can't recommend it to a new adult reader.

Characters die or stop in the story not because they needed to at that point, but because the authors had no use for them in the next section so they made some flimsy excuse not to have them continue on (with the requisite parting of ways scene).

The conclusion of the first trilogy of the Dragonlance Chronicles was fun. Rereading this for the first time since adolescence, I lost some of the sheen. In places, this book shines; in others it is held up by some weak mechanics. I should say all of this and reiterate that I am still in love with these characters. The authors work here was trailblazing for the genre and the brand. If you have never read this trilogy and you are at all interested in fantasy as it progressed from classic to modern, this is important work.

At this point I was just going through the motions because I have a hard time putting down books unfinished, and for some reason I had the entire season on my kindle and some free time on my hand. The end is sufficiently "closed" that I've decided not to proceed to book four though, using the time for more interesting reading.

In general, the book feels very normative, very expected. I may simply not be the target audience with the amount of books I read and my pnechant for no-normative and queer fantasy where not everything revolves strictly around the duality of male and female.
