For some reason my library had this a week before amazon and Barnes and noble . I enjoyed
This book . I thought I knew who the killer was but i was
Wrong (but he was considered a suspect at one point )
There is one minor thing that bugs me but not going to post it as it contains a spoiler .

Best Alex Cross In Years!

Great book and back to the basics for Patterson. Good story and interesting mix of people and story lines. Worth your time.

This reminded me of the old Alex Cross books. Very good.

This is another mystery/thriller by Patterson in the Alex Cross series.

Dr. Alex Cross is instrumental in sending Michael "Mikey" Edgerton to prison for a series of murders. He is executed and his wealthy family accuses Cross of framing him and being responsible for their innocent son's death by electrocution. Then there's another murder with the same MO. Did Cross condemn an innocent man?

It's a well written story, as usual for Patterson, with lots of twists and turns and red herrings. It delves into Cross' family life and has a lot of backstory.

I found this book to be less exciting than the others I've read of the series, but it's still a great read, fast paced, and perfect for when you need to escape into a good story.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House UK for providing this ARC in exchage for an honest review.

I haven’t read a book from the Alex Cross series in a while (about 2 years) and starting this book brought me back to the life of Alex Cross, his family and heinous crimes that can be and have been committed by persons. Alex Cross, his former partner Sampson and FBI agent Maloney are tracking a killer who appears to be copying cases from Cross and Sampson’s past. This book  shows Alex at his best and worse as the killer, M, gets under Alex’s skin….did Alex put an innocent man in prison?

Really it's a 3.5 but I did like it so opted for higher than lower. It was a good story, although a lot of back and forth in time. Felt a few things were pretty corny and expected. But again, it was an easy, enjoyable read.

Although I hate to admit it, it’s probably time for James Patterson to retire Alex Cross. The stories have gotten predictable and the storylines are being recycled.

Zipped through this. He remains excellent at pacing, etc. But couple of decisions in this one were difficult to accept. (No spoilers.) One went against everything we’ve been told about Cross (it’s book 25, come on, you can’t throw that in NOW), and the other was just... massively stupid, maybe? I just didn’t buy that would be Cross’s strategy.

Anyway. A decent read, tripped up by two odd decisions. Well written otherwise.

When Alex receives a cryptic messages signed "M", at a crime scene identical to the one of a murderer Alex watched be executed mere hours before, he starts to question whether an innocent man was put to death? What ensues is a series of murders leading to a game of cat and mouse that will have Alex reliving some of his most gruesome cases of the past.

This twenty-seventh installment in the Alex Cross series got off to a very quick start! With his signature short chapters, Patterson delivers a fast-paced, high stakes read packed with tons of action and twists. From the very first pages, I was sucked into the chase, and particularly enjoyed the dual timeline structure, which added another dimension to the story. There is definitely a lot of foreshadowing in this one, and yet it still kept me guessing. The family dynamic, I've come to know and love, made a pleasant return with both Janie and Ali playing a role. I'd definitely say this has been my favourite Cross installment in awhile, with the ending not providing all the answers, which sets up nicely for the next book. Overall, a compulsive read.

DID NOT FINISH

I got to page 107 and stopped reading. It feels like its just been slapped together, following the usual plot line for a serial killer story. I can see the plots resolution already and don't want to waste my time any further. Googled it and I was right.
