I'm dying you guys.
I AM DYING.
I don't even know where to begin or what to say to truly explain how much I'm enjoying this story. I mean, it's only book 2 and it's obvious there is much more to come because I mean..you can tell!

I hope this series continues for many more books. Like, double digits. I could read these characters forever.

As usual, I NEVER include any type of spoilers with my reviews because I can't stand them! So as I try to always state, this is a spoiler free review. I mean, I don't even like to say certain parts that I loved because I don't want it to give anything away for you guys!

The story picks up where the first book left off. The chemistry between all the guys and Tori/Alinthia still feels completely authentic and real to me which I love! I love that things are NOT forced between any of them. I'm pretty sure I mentioned in my review for The Lost Savior (Alinthia #1) that this was the first book I have ever read that is part of the Reverse Harem genre. I don't know if I could actually enjoy Reverse Harem if it wasn't written the way that Siobhan writes this.

She makes it feel SO believable! Like, I'm not sitting here reading this thinking "Yeah OKAY she likes ALL these guys? Sure whatever.." instead I'm sitting here rooting and cheering for EACH of the guys. I'm sitting here reading and applauding the way that Tori/Alinthia handles each of the relationships and the intricate emotions that are tied to each relationship.

Just yeah, freaking bravo Siobhan. I love your face and this story! I am absolutely, positively, beyond excited for book three to release.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance, complimentary copy of this book.

I will never, ever, ever, EVER give false praise to a story, I will always, ALWAYS tell you how I honestly feel about it without sugar coating. Of course I'm not a total bitch so I'm also never going to bad mouth an author. I'm very much a half glass full kinda girl, so no matter what you'll only find honest reviews from me on all books that I read and share my thoughts on :)

I'm liking this series, but I'm so sick of the storyline where they lie/keep things from each other and that's what causes all the problems. On top of that, Tori is kinda starting to get on my nerves. She's not very smart.

Alinthia just keeps getting more captivating and more complex. What I’m loving most about this series though is Tori’s journey- not only her challenges as she continues to try to figure out who she is and what she can do with her own powers, but how Siobhan is painting that part of herself as a metaphor for some of her own maturing- getting over her own holdbacks, trying to figure out her connection with Copper, Maddox, Beck, and Dane- trying to work through how they fit, how to work together, motivations and allegiances.

So beautifully balanced with our relational journeys are the threats and action that kept me on my toes. Enemies are plenty- and no one is safe. The only path forward is for Tori to figure out how to leverage her strengths, and for this harem to find a way to work together and lean on each other. We have much yet to discover and answer, but we also get some truthbombs here- one I saw coming but was still flabbergasted nonetheless. The danger, the relational tension just make for such anticipation, and I’m so thirsty for all these feelings to become unfurled. These characters are so delightfully unique and thrilling- more!

I was super stoked when I was able to get my hands on a copy of this book, especially with the way that the last one ended. Like, I've been really anxious to find out what was going to happen next!

And I just...

Umm...

I think I'm still processing my feelings!

I read through this one at lightning speed, because that's how excited I was to be able to read this.

This book starts up literally right after where the second one left off, and Tori is feeling sorry for herself, and blaming herself for what happened to you know who. And right away, I just wanted to shake her and say "GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!!" which she did, eventually.

There was so much world building and character building in this book, which I absolutely love. I like getting to see book characters grow up and progress from being unsure and insecure about who they are, to kick @$$ characters who won't take crap from anyone.

I loved getting to see Tori spend more time with her guys, and seeing their relationships grow closer, it totally made me smile. I love all the guys, but my favorite is still Beckett (because I usually go for the cute nerdy ones, lol)

There were surprises in this book, some that I expected and others that I absolutely did not.

This was a fantastic continuation to the Alinthia series, and I'm very very very much looking forward to the next book, especially since this one ended with a cliffhanger *SIGHS* authors are trying to kill me with cliffhangers, I swear.

If you've read and enjoyed the first one, then you should definitely continue on with the series. Or if you love a good SciFi book packed with action, romance, and mystery, then this is the series for you!

*I am voluntarily reviewing complimentary Advance Readers Copy of this book. All of the thoughts and opinions that are expressed above are completely and totally %100 percent mine, and I have not been compensated in any way for this review.

Loved the emotions in this story. We really get to know Alinthia and experience her relationships develop with her protectors. Totally invested in this series and can't wait for more!

I am late to this read so if you haven’t read it, and don’t want to be spoiled DONT READ MY REVIEW. It’s one of the few times I can be a little freer with my review.

I love this series! I can’t wait to see what happens next. I was not surprised to find Zorc was in with Arantu. I knew something was up with that. I never saw what happened with Kylie though. I hope we get to see Daniel figure out that he’s has been talking to aliens.

I liked this book but there were parts I skimmed through because it was moving a little slow. I feel even worse for Jensen in this book. He really gets used and abused. Also there is a part with coop that I am not happy with. I think it takes away from what he has with alinthia. I'm not sure I can get past it for future books. Overall the plot was good but I needed a but more from alinthia. Will still read the rest of the series

Thanks goodness the world building, and base character work is done...because this is why I'm a fan of Siobhan Davis' fantasy work.

In this book of the series we learn more about Tori and the guys..their relationship and what is coming in terms of the prophecy. We go to space, there's some kicking ass and steamy moments. I love the way in which everyone is settling into the relationship, and starting to work on how to have it work for all of them.

The hints of trouble to come, hit in unexpected ways. My only grip is this Tori/Alinthia thing - she's been Tori her whole life, so I'm not sure why she would go with the change at all. That said if the guys could do so, then so could she.

Also, Team Dane ftw!

*I'm a lucky fish and on the author's ARC team.*

I received an eARC of this book via the author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

Another whirlwind read from Siobhan Davis! The Secret Heir is the second book in her Alinthia series and picks up a few weeks after the end of [b:The Lost Savior|36481095|The Lost Savior (Alinthia #1)|Siobhan Davis|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1511730251s/36481095.jpg|58191685]. If you haven’t read that book yet, read ahead with caution as there may be spoilers from the first book in this review (though I’ll try my best to not have any). Book one ended on a pretty awful cliffhanger, not as bad as some of Davis’s previous books but still bad. I was left reeling and SO happy there was only a couple of months wait between the two. I don’t think I would’ve been able to handle more of a wait!

Tori has come so far from the girl she was at the beginning of the series. She now knows who she is, where she comes from, and what she is destined to do. She’s embraced it all with grace and little hesitation. The problem is she is now harboring a big secret from the guys who she just agreed to move in with. The thing with secrets is they fester like a war wound, and the longer you wait to share it, the harsher the outcome. I was seriously yelling at her (you know, in my mind) to come clean. Aside from this, Tori really proves herself to the guys following Dane’s training schedule and pouring all of her energy into learning how to harness her powers and the prophecy. Like the previous book, this one is told mainly from her POV, and I was fully engaged, experiencing things with her.

The guys *swoon* So I’ll admit when I first heard that Siobhan Davis was writing a reverse harem series that I was hesitant and a little skeptical. I’m a firm believer in monogamy so the idea of multiple love interests was a red flag for me. However Davis pulls this off beautifully without it feeling dirty or cheap (does that make sense?). Each of the guys in this story are fully fleshed out, with their own unique personalities and character flaws, yet they work together as one unit. I found myself attracted to each of the guys in different ways and could see how Tori would love them each equally. Maddox is still my favorite though. He’s the tough guy, the muscle of the group, but seems to understand Tori the best. He knows when to push her, when to back off, and intuitively understands what she needs when she needs it whether that be a run in the woods or a simply hug.

The plot of this book moves quickly. A new character appears and wreaks havoc in Tori’s life, causes doubt between her and the guys, and calls into question the validity of the prophecy. This in addition to the secret Tori is keeping really weighs on her and causes tension between her and Dane (who has the ability to sense the course of action and when someone isn’t being truthful). All of this builds throughout the story until in the end as the reader you don’t know who to trust anymore. There are several plot twists and questions that arise as the story progresses that culminate in the big reveal at the end of the book.

Overall I loved The Secret Heir! It’s the perfect compliment to the first book and doesn’t suffer from second-book syndrome like many do. If anything, I enjoyed this one more than the first. The author takes us off world for a little bit, and we get to meet more aliens. So I’d call that a win in the scifi category. The romance aspect is really starting to rev its engines (so to speak) with some very hot, steamy make out scenes 😉 If you enjoyed the first book, you will want to grab a copy of this one ASAP. If you haven’t read the first book yet, I strongly suggest you do, otherwise you will be lost in reading this one. I highly recommend this series for anyone that enjoys science fiction, paranormal romance, and reverse harems.

(Mild spoilers)
Well what a little twist and turn of events that was. I gave this four stars because some of it was a little obvious but it was still a rather entertaining book.
Dane and Tori’s relationship is so confusing to me. I know it’s hot and cold but it’s almost like scorching and frostbite like it’s so different it’s almost not believable.
However I am so very excited to continue with this series and I am dying to figure out what happens next! Especially after that cliffhanger!
