Fantastic overview of sleep science.

If you're only going to read one book this year, please make it this one.

IF THIS BOOK MADE YOU ANXIOUS ABOUT YOUR SLEEP; DON'T PANIC! THE AUTHOR IS FULL OF SH*T.

This book is "riddled with scientific and factual errors" (Guzey, 2019).

Every chapter has errors. For example, the author claims that the World Health Organization declared a "sleep loss epidemic," which is not true. The WHO never said that.

There's also a lot of tomfoolery with p-hacking (a statistical cheat), sample size inflation, and graph manipulation. He constantly misrepresents the data.

The Maintenance Phase podcast also did a great episode exposing the problems with this book.

Check out this webpage for a detailed rundown of the many, many errors in this book.

A really rich read, but it would have been great to learn about M vs F sleep needs, menstruation sleep needs, etc. Everything was "8 hours for all". The narcolepsy chapter was disappointing as a sufferer - things were very skimmed over and only one type was presented.
I loved the important note on low socioeconomic students × less sleep because of VERY early bus schedules. Please please start schools later to make everyone more safe and healthy! And so that we can learn more!

Supposedly has misinformation, but for what it is, it's really good.
