If you’re looking to learn a lot of trauma and therapy, this is a great book. It can be pretty upsetting though, given that most chapters feature 1-2 case stories about horrifyingly traumatic events.

Sometimes very hard to read the stories of trauma written here. But the new developments on how to help people deal with those traumas especially in the final five chapters of the book are just incredible. It makes me want to study those techniques more!

Alll the trigger warnings before delving into this one--be sure you're in a good state of mind, for sure. Really interesting exploration of trauma. Could've been a bit less graphic in some of the examples.

This book is very in depth and a bit of a slow, dry read. I really didn't like it in the beginning, but I appreciated the later chapters more. If you want to read a book about trauma, I think "What Happened to You?" is better.

Slightly triggering, but very informative. Major focus on war, childhood and sexual assault PTSD rather than relational. Very repetitive.
