Interesting approach to eating and prioritising muscle growth
2.5 stars.
Clear and concise book for people who are beginners to nutrition, fitness and exercise. However, some parts seem like pseudo-science/bro science and there's even a part in the book where he mentions a statement that hasn't been backed up by science or a research study, but then he confirms with something along the lines of "Trust me, I know - I have experience."

I'm not going to lie, I bought this book on a whim after binge-watching a bunch of Youtube videos that feature Steve Zim. I haven't tried the meal plan or the recipes, but I thought that the diet seemed reasonable. I wasn't entirely convinced by Zim's scientific explanations for the diet, but that doesn't mean that the science is wrong or that the diet is unhealthy. The explanations just seemed conclusory to me, but I know that not all readers want a more detailed explanation with citations to studies so it may have been done on purpose.
The physical book is quite pricy for the content so get an rebook if there is an option. I took a star away because alot of the info is repeated. And some numbers keep changing through the book. But overall a good guide to start with
Since the Glow up Diaries season 2 was released I was hoping for a collaboration between Alivia and Steve, and it did happen. You can watch her videos and I highly recommend her serie, but I think you should read this tiny book as well.
It talks about nutrition, cardio and strenght training, the 3 principles that Steve relies on for weight loss and it works. There are 10 rules in the book which I will give them to you, but read the book for an introspection.
RULE #1: Eat two or three meals per day (with no snacking)
RULE #2: Schedule your meals and your workouts ahead of time every day
RULE #3: Choose the right foods for fat loss
RULE #4: Follow the glycemic load principle
RULE #5: Get your portions right
RULE #6: Take BCAAs before and after your workouts
RULE #7: Drink the right fluids
RULE #8: Follow the rules, but allow yourself a cheat meal
RULE #9: Sleep long and deep
RULE #10: Keep track of your fat-loss results
The book also has meal plans, recipes and overall you should read it if you want to commit to weight loss.

didn't like the product placement within the book
Interesting to read , but I found not a sustainable diet for me. I have low blood sugar to begin with mind you but without being able to freely eat fruits when needed I would end up dying in my sleep
