Aaaaah! I really never knew that books could have the exact same effect as some of my favorite series have on me! But, these books, this series, it totally has it. Part after part it keeps on delivering. It keeps on expanding the rich world. It keeps on expanding on the politics. It keeps on introducing new amazing and exciting characters and more and more layers.

My love for Raolcan and Amel is endless. I've given them a huge place in my heart and it seems they're not gonna leave any time soon. Raolcan is funny, smart, caring and loyal. Amel is more and more become the person she can be, even though she's stuck in the middle of situations and worlds where she shouldn't have been and where she didn't want to be.

And part after part this book keeps on proving how great it is when it comes to disability representation. I love it how the writer is so aware of the impact Amel's disability on her life. I love how she comes up with all those small details and I'm so excited that we really get the chance to see her grow into a hero, but without forgetting that she is crippled and has trouble walking.

What I also really loved in this part is that Amel is not all of a sudden a great fighter. We got the promise that she will be taught how to fight, but she couldn't just do it. I can't wait to see how awesome Amel will be once she has learned how to master a sword. To me she already is a hero. I hope she can prove her world that she is one too!

I can't wait for March 12th!

This one was not my favorite but it was still pretty good. It went a little slow and was somewhat repetitive at parts. Nothing with Savette was resolved so I’m hoping in the next installment that I figured out more of her story. The end chapter was intense and crazy and weird compared to the rest of the book. I love the fight scenes but it seemed somewhat out of place.

The fifth installment in this bite sized series, and I have to say that this was by far the best so far. It's thin on the grounds in terms of action, but the world building begins to play more of a part here and some of the aspects which have been held just out of reach are beginning to come to light.

I also felt that the side characters were far stronger here, with more time spent on them. This was true both for characters we have seen previously and for new characters like Hubric, who I suspect we are going to see a lot more of.

When the action comes, it comes with a bang and I really did feel like this was a far better balance of interesting world building and some climatic final action scenes. I was slightly disappointed that the first omnibus finished on the same cliff-hanger endings as all of the previous installments, but I admit I actively enjoyed this one.

My usual qualifier stands though; if you have Kindle Unlimited and like short, bite sized fiction then this is worth looking into. If you don't have KU though, it's an expensive way to get your fix.

Dragon School: Sworn sees the return of Amel and her purple dragon Raolcan. They have just managed to rescue Savette and Leng and escape the Magika who were torturing them. The danger isn’t over though as now they are being hunted, and Amel is still looking at being kicked out of Dragon School. But Amel is about to learn some secrets of things that have been going on. Amel meets some friends of Leng who help them out. Savette is broken in ways that will take time to heal, but there is more to her now. When she touched the magic, it affected her and has potentially changed her as well. Now, the possibility of her being a danger to herself and others is all too real. Amel now has to worry about her friend, her feelings for Leng, and will soon meet a legend among the dragon riders.
Dragon School: Sworn is book five in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon School series. True to form this book keeps you engaged from start to finish. I love that this story picks up right where Ruby Isles ended. This book introduces us to new characters, new secrets, and even some unforeseen dangers. Amel has got her work cut out for her, but she will have help taking on the challenges that lie ahead. I like how the story continues to develop and evolve with each book.
There isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book. Amel continues to develop as a character, and I like that we get to see the romance develop further. Though I have to say the twist concerning the romance is unexpected, but interesting.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you have read the first four books in this series, then I highly recommend you pick this book up and read it. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and continuing the journey with Amel in her quest to save those she cares about and become a full fledged Dragon Rider.

Amel has done the impossible: she saved not only Savette, but she also saved Leng! Both were taken by The Dusk Covenant which is a group of rogue Magickas with a dark, hidden agenda. They kidnapped Savette and captured Leng, both being tortured… Savette, mentally and Leng physically. With the help of Lenora and Raolcan, both are free of the Magickas and The Dusk Covenant, only to discover The Lightbringers, a group of Dragon Riders who fight The Dusk Covenant. However, like The Dusk Covenant, once you know too much, you can never leave. In the process of rescuing Savette and Leng, Amel gets a helping hand from the Dark Prince, Prince Rakturan, who was also set on saving Savette.

While Leng is being healed, we meet Dragon Rider, Hubric Duneshifter, a fellow purple and leader of The Lightbringers. While not happy with the circumstances, he takes Amel on as an apprentice. Amel has been tasked with being a double agent. Can she do it? Will she do it? Where will her loyalties lie? As Amel swears her loyalty to the Dominar, things go horribly wrong. What is Amel’s next move? Are Raolcan and Savette okay? Can Savette be healed?

I’m slowly coming around to Prince Rakturan. While he is not my favorite, you do get to know him a little bit more. Also, there’s a small scene between Amel and Leng and I need more. Talk about two people who deserve and have earned happiness! Hopefully, they get what they are looking for, in spite of the impending war being waged. A select chosen few will fight this battle. Are they up to the task?

Review #2: Ok you know how I said that Raolcan and Amel were tied for my favorite character? There is a new contender and that is Hubric Duneshifter. I find him to be a delightful character the embodies a strict paternal figure, but in the best possible way that Amel really needs. I really, really don't want him to die, but he is her mentor so... D:

Amel has gotten tangled up in something bigger than just saving her friend and she doesn't know who she can trust... other than her dragon Raolcan (he would agree with that assessment).

Hubric comes in as something of a complicated character, being tangled up in a secret society, but I think he is exactly the kind of mentor that can help Amel to become the heroine that she knows she can be.

The Dark Prince starts to become a more complex character in this episode and I enjoyed the growth as you learned more about who he is.

I love how Amel is shown to be what would usually be the side character in the Chosen One's story. Vague, but because of spoilers.

I am curious by the Dominar's reaction to Amel whether that had more significance or was merely what he said it was.

I would have liked for Amel to do a bit more talking in the scene where Hubric questioned her, she felt a bit passive, but it also showed an ability that I didn't know Dragon Riders had, which I have a feeling will come in handy later.

Review #1: I almost lost sleep over this book being forced to stop reading it in the middle. Honestly this book series is so good.

Once again, Amel is underestimated and she becomes the hero. Amel does what nobody else seems to be able to do, yet everyone else believes her incapable of doing. That being said, everyone around her seems to be threatening her for answers and trying to turn her into a spy or worse. Amel isn't really sure who to trust, and she hasn't even learned to trust herself. The only one she DOES trust is her Dragon, Raolcan. Even though she's surrounded by enemies, people she's unsure of, and friends she has to keep secrets from and for, she has to rise above her physical disability and show everyone what she can bring to the table. I think, personally, that the fact that they keep overlooking her due to her disability is going to work in her favor. They seem to be convinced she can't be the one saving the day. Either that, or she's going to gain the attention from some very powerful people. Either way, she is the Hero every little girl can aspire to be. I like that she refuses to lay down and give up, no matter how hard things get. Even when given the option to go into hiding, or take what the harder path which may result in a shorter, but honorable life, she doesn't take the easy way out. Amel stands for what is right, no matter what it costs. I will always root for the underdog, especially when the underdog never gives up.
